Ecover Washing Up Liquid, Washing Up Soap, Tough on Grease and Grime, Fresh Lemon & Aloe Scent, 1 x 950ml

I bought the 960ml Ecover Lemon & Aloe washing up liquid for the first time back in November 2020, dispatched from and sold by amazon for £2. Came sealed in a clear bag before being put inside a larger Amazon box with paper packing (as many reviewers have commented), I don’t think the extra wrapping is necessarily a bad thing though when there’s a global pandemic on and it also ensures that other items shipped with it remain safe in case of spillages!I was looking for an alternative to my usual Fairy brand as it’s almost impossible to get the hypoallergenic clear version during a pandemic and all the others are either too expensive or cause skin allergies for us. I wasn’t sure what to expect when purchasing the Ecover brand for the first time but so far so good and it even smells nicer too!Another massive plus point from my perspective is that it contains lactic acid. Although lactic acid can sometimes be rough on hands it’s a great bacteria killer and thought to have no negative effects on the environment or cause bacterial resistance like many antibacterial agents do. To be honest, I’m not sure why this isn’t in most cleaning products but you certainly don’t find it in the regular Fairy dish soap!I debated whether to get the 450ml originally but finally went for the larger size due to price; the one downside to this is that the bottle plastic isn’t any where near as hard/stable as other brands so you can accidentally squeeze a lot out once the lid is open (I’m not sure if this is also true of the smaller size?). To combat this however, we’ve been transferring it into used hand soap bottles which works perfectly; it’s watery enough to come out of the pump with no problems and actually makes it MUCH easier to use when you have a sponge in one hand and dishes in the other! Definitely recommend!!All in all a great washing up liquid, I’m so glad we made the switch. The bottle could be better but then perhaps that’s part of the eco-friendly concept and it’s not any hassle to transfer it into more robust bottles for daily use, it’s a large enough bottle!!

I just love this washing up liquid, it is so very gentle on your skin (more than other eco brands I have tried) and it foams in a lovely way that just doesn't make you feel you need to pour more on your sponge, it is rich. It does go a long way. I have become more concerned about eco and sustainable cleaning products in the past few years and this one is so useful for making my own laundry detergent by adding just a few more and easily available raw materials, following the instructions of an Italian chemist who tries to spread info on how to limit nasty substances in the environment. This washing up liquid just does the job so brilliantly and helped me create an effective laundry detergent, sustainable and economical too!

With this product, you will only need to use very little as it is also effective at washing difficult substances.The product has a great smell and is kind to the hands.

Cleans the dishes well with enough soap suds to leave the dishes sparkling & clean. Price is very good for the quality, compared to my usual top shelf brand

I’ve never used this before but I will be buying again, the smell is lovely, it makes my plates etc shine, the strength is just right, the ease of use is great. Highly recommend.

As with my fabric softner, I love the Eco-Ver, for the fact once you purchase the preferred product, the bottle can be reused with their (& other) 5lt refill bottles. Those r easily washed out for recycling ♻️ 😍😎

Great cleaning power and delicate on hands. Best washing up liquid I've used.

It is very gentle on hands- i barely use gloves, and my hands are still soft and delicate- with washing up at least once a day. I saw people complaining about being thin and not lasting very long on the sponge- what I do- I use the small compartment in my sink (the one for veggies, etc) for washing up. I fill it with warm water and I add some liquid while filling it up (just a bit- a bit more then i would use on the sponge, but it has to last for longer). This way i think i save more water. I put a few items at a time and wash it there. While washing one mug, two other are soaking in soapy water, etc, etc. For more stubborn dishes i leave it in the soapy water and use this time to wipe counters, etc. It also resolves an issue with unergonomic bottle shape (that is true- it might be slippery) as you only have to do it once at the beginning (twice top for bigger washing ups). I prefer to wash dished this way because it helps to soak up the dishes a bit more and makes washing up so much easier. I know it is a washing up liquid review and somehow i wrote my life story here, but this is a tip how this can be used even better and more efficiently. This way you can really love this product. And save water!
