Nyx in the House of Night: Mythology, Folklore and Religion in the PC and Kristin Cast Vampyre Series

Fact Finding Reference Book
This is not the next book in the series. It is a reference book. It is an anthology of authors that goes into great detail about the religion, folklore and mythology behind the series House of Night. While some people might be turned off by this book because it is a reference and historical fact book, I absolutely love it. I was able to use this book for a source in my college English class. Since I am a lover of history with many questions as to the validity of the background information in this book, all of my questions were answered and my curiosity sated. This was a great addition to the HoN Series.

For HON Die- Hards Only
I'll start by saying that there is nothing in this book you must know, or would even greatly benefit from knowing, in order to understand or enjoy the House of Night books. Unless you are a person who truly wants to learn about some of the more mundane details and aspects of the series, (a person like Damien would absolutely read this book if he were a fan of HON), you will probably not care much for this guide. Like the Fledgling Handbook 101 before it, this book is a rather unnecessary companion piece to the novels of PC and Kristin Cast. It sheds very little crucial or surprising light on the world of HON that legions of us have become so enamored of. The virtual irrelevance of it could probably be forgiven if it wasn't SO boring SO much of the time. The Cast's best companion piece to the series to date has, without doubt, been Dragon's Oath, a novella that gives further insight into the characters and world of HON, while managing to tell a story worth telling and to never be boring. I am delighted that the authors are putting out more novellas and (hopefully) less books like this and FHB101. I know any die- hard HON fan will buy, read and probably even enjoy a select few parts of this book- I can't pretend I disliked the whole thing! AS a whole, however, Nyx in the HON is far from a captivating read. True fans would be remiss not to acknowledge the honesty of the matter, and that is this; this book is little more than an attempt to further capitalize on a VERY profitable franchise. This is done by simply throwing together a few mostly presupposed essays, designing a pretty cover and, most importantly, sticking "House of Night" on the front. This last action absolutely guarantees sales will be BIG. Sadly, it does not guarantee us a very relevant or even terribly interesting book.

Nyx, House of Night
Very interesting, my favorite part was how Tulsa became a character in the books, I live in just on the outshirts of Tucson, Arizona was born in California, lived a long time in Minnesota, yet most of my family comes from Okla. My parents , My aunt lives in Henryetta. So alot of these places are also places I have seen and have been to or have traveled through the towns. And of course like most the Cherokee bloodlines. But most of all just about anything that has the name PC Cast and Kristin Cast usually means something good and worth buying.

It's in perfect condition and I learned some new things about my own Cherokee heratage while reading it. I talked to my mom afterwards and found out her great grandmother was on the Trail of Tears.

Really enjoyed
A fun look at the inspiration behind some of the major plot features of the series and a lovely addition to a book shelf. As there's not much out there on Nyx this is a lovely start to her being in books

Nyx
Al principio creí que era un libro parecido a Dragon's Oath o Lenobia's Vow, pero me di cuenta que es un libro descriptivo que nos dice cómo las autoras obtuvieron inspiración y crearon este mágico mundo, me encantó
