A welcome resurrection
I've loved this kind of book since I was a kid, and I am very happy to see the format be resurrected with D&D 5th edition. I've read through the Out of the Abyss campaign book on which this book is based, and I must say that this is an excellent adaptation of the material. While many choices end in horrible death (I would expect nothing less from these books), the success stories and imaginative twists in the writing were great. I will recommend this one to my friends, and it is kid friendly, too.

Sharing with my son
I started playing Dungeons & Dragons in the early 1980s. The subject matter was interesting to read and really helped me love to read. I have been away from the game for over 20 years but am trying to get back into D&D 5e. I bought this book to share with my 7 year old son in the hopes of teaching him about the game over the next year. This book has been a great introduction and fun for us to read together.

This review contains a tip!
Definitely worth it. I (an adult) went through it and enjoyed it. My 9 year old is excited to read it as well.Tip: mark the decisions you make with a post it tab so you can go back to the last decision you made if you find your demise!

Choose Your Own Adventure, not actually Endless Quest
I was disappointed to see that these are basically just Choose Your Adventure books. Despite carrying the Endless Quest brand, there is no real game mechanic (stats, combat) to this series. If you're planning on playing Out of the Abyss, hold off on this book as most of the content used seems to be from that campaign.

Fun Book
My son, who is 12, really like the book. It had multiple reads and different endings. He has read two of these books from the series and is looking forward to more from this series. This book series is great for boy and girls in the preteen age.

Son, 10, enjoyed the book.
I personally have not read it, but my son loves it and has read it several times over.

Didn't feel like a fighter and must be kinda insane to get a good ending
I like the story, but you keep almost all of it running from everything, which didn't make me feel like a Fighter, more like a Scooby Doo character. I feel like that every choice that takes you to a good ending (there are a few of those) is very illogical and non-intuitive.I understand that Underdark is a dangerous and treacherous place, but I think that other books of the Endless Quest series (specifically To Catch a Thief and Escape from Castle Ravenloft) have a better feel of your character (Rogue and Cleric) and more logical ways to the endings.

Needs more depth and detail.
Entertaining for a short while, but the story moves really fast without much depth or detail. The idea behind the books in general, and the basic plot is decent, but even after finishing several scenarios(different paths) I'm left wanting more.

Good overall
It’s a good read but the story is very linear. I found when reading of a choice looked easy (easy way out) usually lead to death. So it became predictable. I’m also 26, so these would be great for a younger child. But I figured I’d give it a shot. Good overall, but I think written for children. Get the kids into D&D this way!!
