Ferrara Pasta, Long Fusilli, 1-Pound (Pack of 12)

Fusilli pasta is good but Ferrara Long Fusilli pasta is great. It's thick and when coated with a sauce, becomes slurpy. I was going to make mac and cheese this week but received this case of 12 pounds of pasta so decided to make a sauce instead and hold off on the mac and cheese until next week. This is a great decision because I discovered that since this holds a sauce so well, it's going to be used in a cheesy baked dish which will delight many. Truth be told, I purchased this pasta because of its appearance, not because I'd eaten it before or had a specific recipe in mind. After preparing the first pound which makes a lot, I have ideas like adding shellfish on top of a tomato-based sauce, the aforementioned pasta and cheese, a simple homemade pesto coating, just to mention a few. I cooked this for 11 minutes and found that to be a good time for enjoying freshly cooked as well as when reheated. Picky kids who only want pasta, butter, and cheese will likely really enjoy the curly, thick spaghetti-like pasta that they can twirl on a fork and get a really full mouthful to fill their belly. The creative souls can even braid it for fun if it's been coated with oil first (yes, I tried) and then it really is fun to eat. This pasta definitely needs something tasty to bring out its purpose as a vehicle for sauce. Eating it on its own is not my personal cup of tea, but you may like that. Due to its density, it can be very filling, so I serve it in smaller portions. Oh yes, don't forget the parmesan!

I ordered this pasta because I could not find it in the stores. As it turns out, it was the best pasta I have ever eaten. It tastes like it is from scratch. Anyone who has made their own pasta knows the flavor I am talking about. I have since handed out packages of this pasta to family members to make at home, and they loved it. Try this pasta, it is worth every bite.

We like to use long Fusilli for many dishes that we prepare for ourselves and family. Since relocating to AZ, some products are hard to find. Amazon has many products that I would have never thought to search for. But there it was! I purchased a 12 factory pack of 12 ounce fusilli. The best thing about it is less people handled the product. In a standard food store, it's delivered, unpacked and placed on a shelf. Then customers search for the package they feel is the best. In those processes, it usually gets damaged. However this was not the case on Amazon.com. Every package looks great with very little to no breakage! I am planning to make shrimp scampi this coming week. The long fusilli will create a dish what is above the rest! I recommend this product to all who cook!

We heard about this pasta on a show with Giada in Italy. Her cousin explained she can’t usually find it in U.S. it is FANTASTIC! The squiggles hold sauce far better than traditional spaghetti pasta. Even when it is al dente, it is tender and flavorful. We will order regularly!

I wanted to love this pasta, but when it cooks to al dente, and when scooping it, and attempting to eat it, these long spirals break apart into small, barely scoopable, pieces. I do not think I will purchase again, for this reason.

If you are longing for the authentic long fusilli you had as a bambino then look no further! I moved to an area that unfortunately has little to no Italian stores and I missed having this type pasta. I looked high and low for this pasta to no avail. I don’t know why but I didn’t think of searching Amazon until late and there it was! I bought an entire case of it as it was a terrific deal! I have been trying a bunch of Italian recipes. I read so many people saying they love this pasta. I agree! They were impossible to find in a grocery store. I bought a case and they arrived in perfect condition. We tried them with meatballs and sauce…delicious!!
