Works better than other brands and on a straight metal pipe
I tried the 'other' brand made famous by a metaphor of being subjected to a scary sea creature. In fact, I tried the other brand twice, but both times they failed. This one worked well for the type of repair I needed to make. I read some negative reviews, and I am not sure why they had so much trouble. It may be the type of repair they are trying to make. I had a broken 3/4 inch straight copper pipe that is connected to an outdoor faucet that froze and created about 1/4 inch crack. Negative reviews seem to attempt a repair a slow leak but do not specify the cause or location of the leak (e.g., PVC joint), so it is hard to tell exactly what the issues they had. At least for me; I knew clearly where the hole was and where I needed to put the patty and the wrap. If you read the instruction BEFORE you start the project and follow it, you should not have any issue. This product is meant to be used all at once and does not allow it to be saved for a job later on. I don't think this product would work so well on the joints or other complex shapes. Also, the product will swell up as it hardens so if you are working on the repair with limited space, you need to consider additional thickness it creates. I also had to repair irrigation lines, and for repairing these, I think it is better to use the coupler (you have to cut out the leaking area and re-connect) instead of this product, couplers are cheaper anyways. This product worked well for me on a straight metal pipe. One thing this product could improve that the 'other' brand has included in their kit is a plastic sheet you can wrap over the resin soaked 'tape' to keep the tape in place while it hardens. Until this manufacture adds it to the kit, you could have a food storage plastic wrap handy and if you see the tape starts to unwind/unwrap, put a plastic wrap around it to keep it in place.

Amazing.
I used this kit to patch a waterline that carries full street pressure. The line was old and rusty. With a grinder, I cleaned off a spot around the leak, and after trying several other solutions, tried this kit. It has worked amazingly well. It has totally fixed the leak, which I have been observing for several weeks now. This particular pipe would be very difficult to replace. So I am grateful to have this solution.

Four Stars
worked good - messy to use - cut product in half for two small leaks

It works
I was truly skeptical that this would actually work. It's legit. When you open it you think there is no way this will actually stop any water from a leaking pipe. It sets up hard as a rock and in 30 minutes. I'm impressed.

Not recommended
Just like the other stuff I used to repair my 1mm pinhole in copper pipe- J-B Weld 8277 putty and Gorilla tape- PowRwrap Pipe Repair didn’t work. All was done thoroughly and according to the provided instructions. I wonder if anyone tests these products before they go on sale? Unlikely: desperate folks needing to fix their pinholes will buy anything anyway. Don’t waste yr money on this product.

It worked on a propane line.
We had a hole from a screw on a copper propane line. I have to say it will not stay tight and will drop. I held on upside down but for as long as I could. It still dropped a little bit it worked enough to stop the leak in our old camper.

Worked very well
It's a bit of a mess to install and and not beautiful to look at, but it does a great job or permanently closing the leak. I had a stubborn pinhole leak on a kitchen faucet that's been repaired several times and this finally did the trick. I wouldn't be put off by negative reviews I note some did not follow the directions.

Difficult to Work With
I used this to try and fix a minor dripping leak on a PVC pipe joint that didn't quite seal properly. The main product was this slimy coated fiberglass mat with the lose weave that you find in some fiberglass kits. It went on OK but after 30 minuets it swelled up around the middle due to out-gassing due to the chemical reaction. I tried to work it down but it was too late and it crinkled around the middle. It then started too harden and become difficult to work with. After an hour it had pretty much cured to an epoxy hardness. It could not effectively seal around one end to stop a minor leak. I tried a one wrap strip from what I had left and that time I babysat it to make sure it stayed down and smoothed out, very tedious. It cut down the leak to a seep. I then got some PVC wet cement and applied that over some old fiberglass reinforcement from a kit I had left. That did the trick and sealed the seep entirely. It was a major concern since the pipe was outside and to be buried. For what it's worth it would have been easier and better to use a rubber tape wrap followed by the PVC wet stuff over reinforcement. You can even get the epoxy plug separate for major holes. This Pow R Wrap stuff is just too difficult to work with and takes up too much time to midwife it. But live and learn unless you have good advice.

Excellent product, although it is a bit messy to use. After I drlled a hole through our shower water supply, I repaired the pipe using a compression joint kit, but I reinforced the joint using the Fernco pipe wrap. Very impressed with the ease of application & strength of the repair once it had cured. I would recomend this product I will keep a spare kit for my next sill DIY mistake.
