Body Armor TC-2962 Desert Series Rear Bumper Textured Black Desert Series Rear Bumper

First impressions at my doorstep was that I was slightly upset that the box was torn up because of the probability of damage and sure enough on the left corner was scraped, exposing bare metal. I didn't even bother looking at the instructions. There's a video from Extreme Terrain on YouTube that's very clear. However, you'll figure out that the wiring harness for the tow hook ups is too short for the new bumper so you'll have to unclip the wiring harness from the frame to get enough length. Also, you'll have to install a new license plate light as this bumper doesn't accommodate the factory lights. Keep the plug from the existing wiring harness in order to splice a new license plate light with ease. This bumper WILL NOT give higher clearance AND WILL REDUCE your departure angle. The bumper will protrude rearward about 1.5 inches more and about an inch lower. That is a huge drawback of the bumper. I do plan on doing a 3 inch lift in the future so that will correct the issue. Regardless, it will affect your current setup. Overall, great value bumper; but less than stellar shipping and handling.

This bumper is a 10/10 but there is no clear solution to the license plate light. It is an 1.25" round hole and no clear solution from Amazon. I went to my local AutoZone, they do not have a light for this in stock in store.

Bumper is awesome built very nice. If you have a 2016 to 2017 tacoma sr5 dont buy it, it wont fit. I called body armor and they said it will fit every tacoma but sr5 due to the rear bumper reinforcement being different on that model. They also said they have been aware of this issue but have made no attempt to make customers aware of this issue. Company i bought the bumper from is awesome to deal with they are taking it back, but body armor as the manufacturer of the product sucks in my opinion due to lack of information regarding the bumper and what it fits.

Doesn't bumper doesn't have a location for stock plate lights, can I get a response from manufacturer telling me which one they always go to voicemail

Unlike other aftermarket bumpers which is more complete as far as lights for license. Why not make a hole to mount the stock lights?? Why is there a need to rig up aftermarket lights??? The description needs to be CLEAR what models will fit. IT WILL NOT FIT SR and SR5 models... and what other models. Maybe it fits models with tow hitch ?? I'm not sure. Had to use a torch to cut off about 2in section at both brackets because IT WILL NOT FIT. And on top of it all, because the section needing to be cut is about 2 inch at mounting/support bracket, you will lose some rigidity. What a PITA !! No other way around it. Either the lower factory bar or the BA bracket had to be cut. It was past 30days when decided to mount so couldn't return it. No frustration like removing everything and the product needed modifying. A less than 1 hour job turned to several hours.
