Just feels right!!!
OK...I am a beginner jumper.Initially I bought the cross fit cable jump rope. These are the thin wire ropes coated in PVC.It looked cool and I really like the thin rope wiring. I used it for a while...but something was missing...just didn't feel right.I then went on YouTube to look around regarding jump ropes and stumbled onto Buddy Lee videos. This guys is unreal with the jump rope.Anyhow, got to watching him and saw that he was selling some jump ropes. I went on Amazon and found these Hyperformance jump ropes.A bit more pricier than the cross fit cables which were under twenty bucks.A bit hesitant...and I was really unsure about the thicker rope this came with...but seeing Buddy's videos, I decided to give it a try. Why not...I received these quickly...and started to use this rope.Immediately, I felt the feeling I was missing from the thin light wire rope I mentioned before. It was the balanced weight of the rope. Heavier...but very nice feedback. I could keep a decent rhythm since i could hear the slapping of the rope on the ground and the weight it carried. Not really heavy per se....but heavier than the wire ropes. I could now jump continuously without skipping a beat. On the wire ropes, I constantly lost my rhythm and tangled up, halting my jumping which was very annoying.I can see where the cross fit ropes come into play well if you are very good a jump roping...but as a beginner, the Buddy lee ropes sealed the deal.Even as I get better, I feel I will stay with this rope...just given the perfect weight it carries for me. It just feels right!!!Only thing i regret...is not buying the extra rope some of the other options sold on Amazon. Should have bought the extra rope. Anyhow...too late for that...but if this rope breaks on me...I will be buying another replacement rope immediately. Just a great rope...love it!!!

Looks good, but sorry I bought it
The image looked good so I bought it. In person, it looks good too. But like other reviews said, the cord is not easily straightened out. And since I always have to put it away and use it again, its always crooked the rope. Very cheaply made and not worth the money. I may just can this one and get a jump rope that I dont have to waste time straightening out the rope.2/19/2014 - Updated reviewSo I did buy other jump ropes that broke easily. Since I still had this jump rope that is always curled up and never straight, I figured Ill just keep using it. I do have to say that since my purchase, I went from a real failure at jumping rope to now really good at it. Even though the rope is always curled, I do have to say that it does not interfere in any way using the rope. Because its outlasted any other rope I bought so far, I would not have to recommend buying it and don't worry about it curling up. The more experience you get with jumping rope, this becomes a non factor. PS: I love 25 lbs since I started jumping rope regularly.

Great speed rope but received a DEFECTIVE item. Cannot return the item because deadline for return was missed by a week!
Great speed rope! I give the performance of the rope 5 stars but the item that I received is defective so I’m giving it a one star. Unfortunately I realized that I received a defective item after I missed the return deadline. One of the handles felt weird when jumping but I couldn’t tell what it was. It felt like something was moving on one of the handle while the other handle was quiet when I was using the jump rope. This happened after using it for 2-3 weeks. There were no visible signs and I didn’t feel it after the third week until yesterday (week 5) so I didn’t sent in the item for a refund. One of the handles was doing the same thing as mentioned before and when I finished jumping, I noticed that the piece that keeps the upper barrel in the lower barrel slid out of the lower barrel by about a 1/4 inch! I had to tap the handle on a soft surface on the swivel bearing to get the upper barrel back into the lower barrel. But every time I jump I can feel the same thing as before. Has anyone had this issue? I missed the return deadline by a week but is there anything that can be done to get a refund or a replacement?I just added a picture, the handle on the right is higher because the upper barrel is sliding out of the lower barrel. This is after a few minutes of jumping rope.

I bought it just for the handles
I think the 'rope' that is sold with this jumprope is pretty lame. Its like a hose or something. So I took a regular speed rope (like what crossfitters use) and combined that with the handles on my buddy lee. My double unders have gone through the roof. When I sometimes have to jump using a different jump rope, I am quickly reminded how much I love my hybrid buddy lee. Its a great handle, but a pretty lame rope. just buy these for the handles and put a different rope on it.

Less expensive options out there that are better. My other jump ropes that cost half of what this does are far more comfortable and useful. The handles are my biggest complaint, too thick and bulky, I like the feel of a thin handle and the foam that comes on these are too short which makes your grip feel strange with the transitioning size and grip.

Best Jump Rope Ever
A friend of mine suggested this after trying out all the ropes out there. I tried his and felt the same. There is nothing out there that is quite like this one. It makes me wanna go to the gym everyday now.I was able to cut down a few pounds after I started using this. It helps tone up pretty well. I would recommend this to everyone that wants to learn because it make things look so effortless and makes the user look like a pro.

Using For Double-Unders in Crossfit
The rope definitely performs as promised. What frustrated me was that the foam handles on the rope were two different sizes and seems to throw off my rhythm when I am trying to get through 50 consecutive double-unders. This model is very popular in my gym so it has to be doing something right. I gave it three stars just because of the handles.

Buddy Lee Jump Ropes Hyperformance Aero Speed Jump Rope (Green)
By far the best jump rope I have ever used. The handles and the ball bearing system are great. I haven't had any issues with straightening the rope out as some other reviewers mentioned. I wish the rope itself was a little lighter or if there was an option to buy a replacement cable that is lighter, more like a speed rope. As good as the rope is, I think $42 is too expensive
