So far, I love them.
These are awesome, really easy to use and nice and strong. I wish I could order them with a variety of different sized hooks for the ends.

easy to use
These are one of the best tie down straps I have used. It is so easy to adjust the tension. the hooks are the perfect size for the kayak. The ratchet tightens easily with just a pull on the cord. I haven't had them long enough to know about the durability but for the intended use, they look great.

Great Peace of Mind
I don't tie down the front and read of my kayak when I'm taking it to the river in my neighborhood. For that 40mph trip I'm fine with a pair of ratchet straps to keep everything secure. If I'm going on the highway then I need some peace of mind and these things perfectly fit the bill. The ratchet mechanism is easy to use and release and the hooks have a nice soft finish to avoid scratching my car. Until recently I was using a rope with a single hook that came with my kayak rack for tie down purposes and I'm glad I made this upgrade. In addition to not needing to memorize any fancy knot ties (which admittedly I should learn anyways...) these ratcheting tie-downs take half the time to set up. I can get my kayak secured to the roof of my car in under five minutes now!

Secure and Heavy-Duty Kayak Tie Down Straps
The ratchet pulley system allows for quick and easy tensioning, providing a tight and secure hold. It ensures that the kayak remains stable during transport, even on bumpy roads. The hooks are sturdy and provide a solid attachment to the bow and stern of the kayak. The straps are adjustable in length, accommodating different sizes of kayaks and canoes. This versatility makes them suitable for various types of watercraft and allows for a customized and snug fit.Although these tie-down straps perform admirably, it is important to note that the ratchet mechanism may require some extra care during operation to prevent any accidental slippage. I stop and check the kayak every so often to ensure its still tightOverall, the Kayak Tie Down Straps Canoe Bow and Stern Heavy Duty Cargo Ratchet Pulley Rope Hanger provide a secure and durable solution for transporting kayaks and canoes. Their quality construction, adjustable length, and reliable attachment hooks make them a valuable addition to any outdoor enthusiast's gear.

Work smarter, not harder
These are a must! I love that the ratchet part of them is super easy to pull and release. They are also great quality and lightweight so you don't risk damaging your vehicle or kayak. Plus, once they're wrapped up, they don't take a whole bunch of space!

Plastic Rubbish. Not safe for canoe on roof.
Certainly would not feel safe with these plastic sided pulley systems holding a canoe on a roof rack! Dissapointed

Works well for transporting a canoe
We used it to transport a canoe for the first time for about 2hr on gravel roads . Held everything in place, had no issues setting it up or taking it down.

This Is All You Need
If you are confused as I was by various YT videos on how to tie a trucker's hitch, simpy buy 2 of these kits (two cables to secure the bow to the hood and two cables to secure the stern to the trunk). It has been working well for my use case which is to help secure a 65 lb (30 Kg) kayak at highway speeds. Remember, the straps that came with your rooftop racking system have the main responsibility for holding down the kayak. The bow and stern lines are only there to act as reinforcement during bumps and crosswinds. If your vehicle like mine does not have chassis tie-down points, order a pair of Thule Hood Loop Strap (Amazon Product Identification Number B004MZXI0I ) for the hood, and also (if required) a pair of Pelican Tie Down Anchor Straps (Amazon Product Identification Number B0845G55PL) for the trunk.
