it is very close to 4 stars considering how nice the blade is and the price
Now, keep in mind, it is very close to 4 stars considering how nice the blade is and the price. However, the handle isn't long enough to be a true Naginata and the wood of the handle is very light and I think it will split if used to cut with the blade, and the Saya (sheath) for the blade is very loose, not fitted at all, which there is no excuse for since the blades are all production blades so they don't need a custom fitted Saya for each one. It's so loose now, they could have made any attempt to get it better fitting and it would be a huge improvement. The blade is almost sharp enough to be used for test cutting (it's machine sharpened, so it's not as sharp as it could be if done by hand), just a little work on a wet stone and it would be really sharp. So, it is sad that they skimped on the handle. The furniture is really nice, so I plan to take the blade and furniture and putting it on a handle I make myself from a decent hardwood at the correct length. I'll make a new Saya for it also. Even still, the price is a bargain for the blade and furniture.

Shotty materials
The tang does not fit the shot in the shaft and the hole for the pegs don't line up. it was wedged part way into the shaft, when I tried to pull it out the whole shaft split and it's still wedged in the upper part.
