Green River Labyrinth Canyon tested and approved in Moab UT ...
Green River Labyrinth Canyon tested and approved in Moab UT. This shirt performed as well as any other shirt I have taken on the river in the past at less than half the cost. It could withstand 105 f + and a scourge of mosquitoes for over 4 days. No sun burns and minimal bug bites… A+

Great product at an amazing price!
I live in a very warm and sunny location. I use these shirts so that I can avoid sunscreen as much as possible. I have purchased expensive athletic sun shirts from other hiking/ outdoor companies. I find that these Hanes long sleeve shirts are equally protective and comfortable but at a much more affordable price. I use them when hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and much more. I have ordered three different colors and all are great. I also wear swim shirts when in the pool or at the beach and these work in a pinch.SIZING: I originally got the large and they were HUGE. I exchanged for a medium and they are perfect. I am 5'11'' 180lbs.*One thing to note about the pricing on here as of 6/2015. If you get the multi-pack in one color the cost is $18. If you get the packs that have two different colors the cost is $38?? I hope people realize they could get two multi packs at $18 each in the two colors they want and pay $36 for 4 shirts. Kinda strange pricing right??*

XL is huge. Shirt is fantastic.
I read the other reviews and decided to get an XL. The XL fits like what a “true” XL would be. It is a bigger XL than a lot of other brands or clothes. I would say if you are normally on the line between a L and XL and you want to put this under a T-shirt or where as an under layer, get the L. XL fits great as an outer shirt to put other clothes underneath. Now to the shirt itself. It is exactly what I was looking for: thin sort of stretchy, baselayer. It holds its shape and is very lightweight.

Doubt the UPF rating of product received. Falling apart upon delivery.
8 of these ordered so I can walk the dog in the summer. 4 had poor stitching and were coming apart. 2 were replacements for bad shirts that were themselves bad. They do breathe a little, but are also see-through so I am concerned about the UPF rating. In addition, there is nothing on the packaging to indicate these are UPF rated, and as I am on chemo for melanoma that puts me at additional risk for new skin cancers, this is beyond upsetting. They are oversized and did not shrink.

Perfect for High Humidity and High Temperature Areas!
This is my first time buying a product similar to this and I am very happy with it.Few weeks ago, I was taking my cousins to the Grand Canyon National Park via Las Vegas and Arizona Desert. I knew I needed to get a long sleeve shirts, jacket, or something similar since I tend to burn up quickly (Sun burn, sweat, heat, etc…) I was intrigued by the statement “Cool Dri”. Even though this product is made by a leading manufacturer (I used many of their products), I was skeptical. I even posted a question and received many responses from people that used the product almost every day. After their recommendation, I purchased the product along with a long sleeve cotton shirt as a backup. While I was in the Grand Canyon Nation Park (89’ F), I felt cooler and very comfortable than my cousin who was wearing a short sleeve shirt. Due to drinking lots of water and in High humidity area, I was seating more than I normally would. However, I felt that the more I sweat, the more comfortable I get even in high temperature. I saw many people who were wearing short sleeves shirts, or tank top shirts complaining of heat and burn while I hike in comfort.I recommend this product or similar products to people that will be traveling to high humidity or high temperature area. Be warn that when it get cold, this product doesn’t handle cold very well. Since I came back, I have purchased more of this product.I am in no affiliation what so ever with the seller and my opinion is of my own. I will update the review when and if necessary to maintain the integrity of the product and my reviewer standings.[...]

Good for swimming too!!
Just as others have indicated, this shirt fits me the same as my other regular XL t-shirts. I am a maie, 5' 11" 210 lbs. 44" chest.I purchased these shirts to be used in place of the more expensive sunblock shirts. I also wanted to use them when I was swimming while on vacation. They worked great. Let me tell you what I experienced. I put the shirt on and it felt like my regular XL T-shirt. The sleeves were a bit long but what could you expect? Remember, the manufacturer has to provide a shirt to fit a number of body types that need XL. Some folks have long arms and others not so long. I simply folded up the sleeve. Problem solved. The shirt had a loose overall feel that I like.On vacation, I spent a lot of time in the sun and the sun blocking effect worked just fine. Remember these are not total sun blocking only SPF 50, Then I went into the water with the shirt on. Of course the shirt got wet just like my T shirt would and the fit became, as expected, a bit sloppy. The sleeves seemed to sag a bit but this I overcame by simply pulling up on the sleeve at the shoulder. I had no problem swimming and snorkeling with this shirt. As you may know. the normal expensive sunblock shirts have a tighter fit. If this is what you would like, I would suggest ordering a smaller size. If you want this mostly for swimming, I would down size. If you want it for both swimming and lounging around as I did, the size was just fine.

Game Changer
Complete game changer for me! I work 12 hour shifts in the hot sun and have always used sunblock to protect my skin and tattoos. I started wearing these a few weeks ago and not only do they protect me from the sun, I am significantly cooler then when I am wearing a tshirt. The white reflects the sun and breezes come through the shirt. Ordering more of these and wont work in the sun without them again.*Runs a little larger so I ordered a size down. I'm normally an XL but L is perfect.

QUALITY PRODUCT, EXCELLENT PRICE, UNCERTAIN UV PROTECTION
My height is 5' 10½" and my body weight is 165 lbs. My body's shape is slim and am in reasonably good athletic condition. This post is a review of the Hanes (Men's) Long Sleeve Cool DRI T-shirt UPF 50 plus. The chosen size was 'medium'. The chosen color was 'white'. My reason for purchasing this T-shirt was to provide protection from the sun's harmful UV rays while playing tennis on outdoor courts. As such, it was worn underneath a thin (short-sleeved) cotton T-shirt.My Amazon order arrived within three days in a package containing two (2) identical T-shirts, in addition to other items which I ordered. If you decide to order two different colors when placing a single order, the cost is higher, since additional shipping charges will apply. If your order does NOT combine colors (e.g., two white shirts, as I ordered), you will obtain free shipping once you add additional items to your order - such that the total cost of the order exceeds CAD $35, before tax.Upon arrival, I examined the two T-shirts carefully and found them to be of notably high-quality workmanship. They appeared to be very durable with double-stitching. They are light-weight and extremely compact - convenient when packing for camping or traveling. After machine washing (warm water with no chlorine bleach) the shirts were virtually dry, even before placing them into the clothes dryer with other articles of clothing. On the tennis court they performed very well. Despite being worn underneath a cotton T-shirt on a rather sunny and hot (29° Celsius) day, the wicking effect was great. Moisture was pulled away from my body quickly and my body did not feel wet, despite heavy perspiration and two layers of clothing. As mentioned, these shirts dry very quickly. Air also seems to pass through these Hanes T-shirt quite well, thereby offering excellent ventilation during prolonged exertion or intense exercise. (Note: The cotton outer-garment became wet with perspiration and took longer to dry than the Hanes T-shiirt which was worn as an undergarment.)As others customers have noted, I found the underarms on these T-shirts NOT to be form-fitting. When lifting the arms overhead, the sides of the shirt will tend to pull upwards slightly with a triangular piece of cloth (air gap) remaining under the arms, since the the stitching for the underarms tends to be positioned a little too low on the shirt (not body-hugging under the arms). For me, this was not a concern, since the T-shirt was to be worn underneath another light-weight casual shirt. Accordingly, however, for those concerned about style or aesthetics, this T-shirt probably wouldn't be highly-rated as an outer garment. Additionally, the 100% polyester fabric tends to 'hang' or 'drape' onto the body, unlike cotton fabrics which tend to rest more naturally when worn. Despite these minor shortcomings, the T-shirt felt comfortable to wear and was neither too tight, nor too loose. The sizing ('medium') was perfect for me. The arm length was neither too long, nor too short. The chest and shoulder widths fit perfectly. There is plenty of length to tuck into pants or shorts. In other words, I found the sizing to be accurate, since I typically wear a size 'medium' with all my other shirts. No surprises or letdowns were found to exit in this respect. The Hanes label with the patented 'Cool DRI' insignia are clearly displayed inside the T-shirt. These shirts are NOT knockoff products. They are manufactured in Guatemala as genuine Hanes products. .UPF is an acronym for "Ultraviolet Protection Factor". It is somewhat analogous the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) ratings applicable to topical sunscreen lotions. The Amazon specifications for these T-shirts - unambiguously - claim that these T-shirts provide UPF 50-plus protection. This is the highest UV protection available for an article of clothing. Essentially, this means that less than 1 out of ~50 units of UV will pass through the garment (~ 2%).These T-shirts are NEITHER zinc oxide NOR titanium dioxide infused, so the UPF rating should not diminish with washing over time. Nor will the UPF rating improve over time due to automatic clothes drying, since polyester will not shrink (when heat is applied) to provide a tighter weave. No where on these garments, nor their packaging, is ANY reference made to their UPF rating. However, polyester contains a benzene ring that absorbs UV light. This dynamic is enhanced in cases where the polyester fabric is denser (i.e., tight weave, heavy weight, minimal stretch). Though tightly woven, these polyester T-shirts are quite thin. Therefore, I'm not confident that they actually provide the level of UV protection which is promised on Amazon. That being said, I am delighted that I purchased these T-shirts, since cotton T-shirts alone block only about 5% of the sun's harmful radiation. Coupled with other measures, these Hanes T-shirts will definitely enhance my UV protection. Conclusions: This is an excellent product at an excellent price. For my intended use of these T-shirts (stated above), I am definitely pleased that I made this purchase. Nonetheless, I certainly won't be making any fashion-statements on the tennis court with these T-shirts! :)

Love them
Got one a few months ago, ordered large size as I wanted it to be loose & it is. Ordered the two pack recently & went for medium which are still loose but perfect. Really light material for a base layer, well made, wash easy & dry quickly. Really worth the money.

I like the looser relaxed fit; kind of an odd cut, but I'm keeping them
This review is for the Hanes Men's Long Sleeve Cool DRI shirt UPF 50-Plus Black XL 2 packI'm a 6 ft man, 230 lbs, 38 - 40" in waist, 46" in chest, and I ordered the XL. Relaxed, the fit is near perfect; once active, the fit is kind of odd. When relaxed, the fit is darn near perfect for me. The sleeves cover the wrists with a cm or two to spare, it fits in the shoulder and has a relaxed non-snug hang at the waist. I don't like a lot of the sports shirts that are body contour snug as I've got a belly. It's got some bulk or room in the waist area, great for me; but if you're on the thinner side then the waist area may actually be a bit boxy for you. Shirt length untucked comes near the bottom of the fly. So for me the fit is all good when relaxed. But as others have mentioned the shirt has kind of a strange cut once you get active; once you raise the arms it rides up and stays on the forearms until you pull it down, due to a strange cut across the underarm lat area and the taper of the wrist. It's not a dealbreaker for me, but it may be for others, so it's worth mentioning.I bought the black ones and the material is sort of shiny, not a 'matte' look, if that matters to you. I don't care as theses are under layer shirts.I'm using these shirts for outdoor work / activewear under a fleece or flannel, working in Canadian winter. I want a shirt that wicks moisture away when I'm constantly going between work / sweating and then inactive, outside on cold days, and these shirts are good for that. It doesn't feel gross when wet like cotton. It's a comfortable first layer against the skin.I'm trying several different brands and sizes right now and these are on the good to better side in terms of feel against the skin when wet and their ability to wick moisture and still provide warmth / insulation. They're cheap - I paid about $9 per shirt which is better than anything I could find locally.8/10 for me as a work shirt and would buy again.

Large tear in new shirt right out of package.
This morning I opened up the package and put one of two shirts on, of course the first shirt already had a large tear along the seam of the left arm sleeve, the shirt is garage, I’ll look at the 2nd one to see if I have a similar issue with it, so far I don’t recommend it.
