Works well in Dell Studio XPS 7100. This unit happens to have a USB2 header free by design, to power the RGB. They provide in the box a 4pin to RGB Gen1, and USB2 Header to 3pin cables. There are nice rubber covers for the two ports (3pin/4pin) side by side on the clamp opposite face. on the opposite end of that side of the fan is a H/L fan speed switch. That switch just raises the max rpm ceiling of the cooler an additional 550-600 rpm. The temperatures are overall lower on the cores. Comes with pre-applied thermal grease patch. Extremely quiet, even on this primitive PWN Dell Cool n Quiet system. This is the Phenom II 1090T (AM3 Socket). Excellent cooler. The RGB is awesome, but this machine from 2011 is a little before glass panels lol I also modded a 120mm fan in front of case, but that is a different topic. Great CPU cooler.

This cooler runs my 1600AF chip at 25 degrees C at idle. I know, when I was a child in America my teachers taught us the decimal system and promised us that when we were their ages, the US would have standardized the Metric system. Four pin Fan power and then optional connectors 4Pin ARGB or 3 pin to USB header. The 4 FAN is hard wired in and the two ARGB or USB header (9 pin USB 2.0) are optional to provide the illumination and control. Great temps, limited RGB options but one is the TEMP setting, 1 of about a dozen. As you can see in the pic is idling green. Very pleased. This item was purchased from a return stock and was scratched up pretty good. Windex Vinegar, a paper towel and 5 minutes results in it looking new. The face of the sink was also dirty with old compound. Alcohol pads I use to clean my readers, perhaps 5 in total and some work and it came near new clean before installation. Very happy with it. So this is my 2cents on installation. I aligned mine so AMD could be read in the upper left side, assuming this was the intended orientation of the fan. This means the lock side is near the top of the board. I clipped the bottom ring on the AM4 plastic mount first and made sure the top side clip was in the extreme 'relaxed' position that is the latch allowing the clip to travel towards the board as much as it allows (play with a minute, get familiar). Then once the bottom was clipped on I sat the sink level and pushed (gently) while apply pressure on the top near the base where the square clip is moving it side to side slightly to align the hole with the plastic catch, I pushed harder on the metal clip than I did on the sink to avail the 'click' of the second clip. Once done, move the clip lever (black) at the top over to face the other direction, 'locking' the heat sink in place. This is a wonky procedure, but is not really all that hard.

After initially receiving the wrong part, ordered it again and got the correct one. Easy to install and works great. Pre installed thermal paste I don’t think was quite enough, but it’s pretty quiet all things considered, and the RGB is a nice touch

Used product but came in excellent condition with thermal paste, cables, etc. I removed the stock paste and added arctic silver but that’s about it! Does not come with mounting brackets but I already had them. Install was super easy - just plop down and secure the clips and you’re off and running. Colors look awesome and runs cool - I’m under 40C on a 5700G browsing, watching videos, etc.

This cpu cooling fan has been made by cpu manufacturer AMD and makes fitting a breeze as there are no after market adapters it just clip straight in. The LED'S look great too.

Kurz vor Weihnachten. Als ob man nicht schon genug Stress hätte, sollte dieses Jahr ein Eigenbau PC für unsere Tochter unter dem Tannenbau stehen. Von der Stange kaufe ich grundsätzlich keine Systeme mehr – i.d.R. überteuert, man weiß nicht wirklich was drin steckt, verbaute Komponenten die man nicht braucht… kennt man ja alles. Team Blue (Intel) hat in 2019 klar das Rennen gegen Team Red (AMD) verloren, somit sollte es ein Ryzen 3600 werden (Aufpreis/Leistungsgewinn zum 3600x lohnte sich zum Kaufzeitpunkt nicht wirklich). Die einzelnen Komponenten sollten das Budget auch nicht zu sehr belasten und zu den Nutzungsgewohnheiten passen. Bei der Kühlung der AMD CPU war ich mir nicht wirklich sicher. AIO Wasserkühlung? Wäre für den Verwendungszweck totaler Overkill, aber leise. Noctua, be quiet! – leise, effizient... aber nicht gerade ein Hingucker in einem Gehäuse mit Klarglas Seitenteil. Zufällig bin ich hier bei Amazon auf den Wraith Prism gestoßen. Kühlleistung für meinen Zweck ausreichend, RGB, passt locker in das Gehäuse... Ja, bei einem 3700x wäre der Lüfter schon mit dabei gewesen, einen "alten" 2700er wollte ich nicht. Unvernünftig? Absolut. Der Boxed Kühler hätte es schließlich auch getan, aber das Kind in mir hatte sich dann durchgesetzt (mehr RGB!). Einbau Geliefert wurde gewohnt schnell und trotz fehlender Anleitung war der Einbau kein Problem. Die bereits ab Werk aufgetragene Wärmeleitpaste hatte ich zuvor ersetzt (muss man aber nicht machen). Beim Verriegeln des Kühlers über den Spannhebel sollte man schon beherzt zur Sache gehen, aber auf keinen Fall Gewalt anwenden. Der Lüfter sitzt dann bombenfest auf der CPU. Die beiden beigefügten Kabel zur RGB Steuerung (4Pin 5v & 2.0 USB) hatte ich aus Unwissenheit beide am Mainboard angeschlossen. Ein Fehler, aber dazu später mehr. Wer sich über den Kleinen H/L Schalter am Lüfter wundert: In der (H)igh Position kann der Lüfter höhere Drehzahlen erreichen. Das sollte man sich vor dem Einbau überlegen, denn wenn die Grafikkarte erstmal im System ist, kommt man kaum noch an den Schalter ran. Eine negative Auswirkung auf Leistungskurven konnte ich in H-Position nicht feststellen. RGB Steuerung/Mirage Effekte Das AMD Logo, der äußere Ring und der Lüfter können getrennt voneinander beleuchtet und mit verschiedenen Effekten versehen werden. Das von mir verwendete MSI Board bringt 5v 4Pin RGB Anschlüsse mit und in der hauseigenen Software lassen sich die RGB Effekte des ganzen Systems synchronisieren & steuern. Der Lüfter wurde auch als MB-Kühler erkannt. So richtig funktionieren wollte das in meinem Fall aber nicht und den Mirage Effekt (wohl der Grund, warum man den Lüfter überhaupt kauft) konnte ich überhaupt nicht konfigurieren. Wie das bei anderen Mainboard Herstellern aussieht kann ich an dieser Stelle nicht bewerten... Von der AMD Homepage also die Wraith Prism Software heruntergeladen und installiert (siehe da, ist von Cooler Master) – aber so richtig befriedigend wollte das noch immer nicht funktionieren. Die Mainboard RGB-Steuerung griff weiterhin in die Beleuchtungsprofile ein und legte trotz deaktivierten Optionen munter Farbprofile auf den Wraith Prism. Hinweis: Für die AMD/Cooler Master Software muss der CPU Kühler zwingend intern per USB am Mainboard angeschlossen sein! Wer schon alle Ports am Board ausgereizt hat benötigt dann u.U. noch einen internen USB-Hub, das sind dann nochmals ca. €15 on top und man muss auch den Platz im System haben. Aber zurück zum Thema: Nach einigem Rätselraten habe ich den 4 Pin RGB Anschluss vom Board abgezogen und siehe da, alles funktioniert bestens. Man muss sich also entscheiden: A) Will man keine zusätzliche Software installieren und die Boardmittel nutzen, verwendet man den 4 Pin RGB Anschluss und muss herstellerabhängig u.U. auf die "Mirage" Effekte verzichten. B) Verwendet man die AMD/Cooler Master Software hat man kompletten Durchgriff, aber man verliert die Synchronisation zu den restlichen RGB Spielereien, die man ggf. sonst noch in seinem System so verbaut hat. Ein Stück Software kommt Temperaturen Im IDLE habe ich im Schnitt ~35°C ausgelesen, unter Last (mit Cinebench, Prime95) bin ich nie über ~70°C gekommen. Was Overclocking anbetrifft werden Enthusiasten ohnehin zu anderen Lösungen greifen. Für den normalen Anwender ist die Kühlleistung m.E. bei dem von mir verwendeten Prozessor ausreichend. Solche Aussagen sind natürlich immer relativ zu sehen, da auch Faktoren wie Umgebungstemperatur, Luftstrom im Gehäuse und allgemeine CPU Auslastung eine wichtige Rolle spielen. Die Laustärke war vertretbar, wobei man ab 1.600 Umdrehungen schon anfängt den Lüfter zu hören. Auch hier hängt es letztendlich davon ab, wie gut das Gehäuse gedämmt ist, welche Lüfterkurven man verwendet und wie empfindlich man ist. Positiv + Absoluter Hingucker (Mirage Effekte) + Im unteren Drehzahlbereich recht leise + 5v RGB Anschluss (beim eigenen Mainboard unbedingt Kompatibilität prüfen!) + Zusätzlicher USB 2.0 Anschluss (intern an das Mainboard), um RGB über AMD Software zu steuern + Prozessorabhängig eine ordentliche Kühlleistung Negativ + Relativ Teuer + Keine Anleitung + Will man alle RGB Effekte nutzen, muss der Lüfter intern per USB angeschlossen sein + Alternativ RGB nur über 5v Mainboard Anschluss, 12v ist nicht unterstützt!
