Sunset Vista Design Studios Garden Stake Rain Gauge, Cardinal

Figures are ver small and not very solid. Very small rain guage. Was disappointed in the looks and construction.

I had a rain guage for many years this one does not seem quite as sturdy as previous one. We will see how it holds up.

The rain gauge is functional, sturdy and very cute, but the paint on the female Cardinal had peeled off in shipping, or possibly even before that. I needed it immediately or would have returned.

I liked what came was what was ordered

When I opened the package, since the male cardinal's tail sticks out wider than the width of the shipping box, it had been bent to fit inside the bubble wrap and the box. This caused the paint to flake off at that spot, so instead of being red, the bird had a gray spot in the middle of the tail. I returned it, stated why I was returning it, and asked for a replacement. When I received the second one, the exact same thing had been done, so I didn't even have to fully unwrap the bubble wrap to see the gray spot where the paint was missing. Needless to say, I returned that one also and won't try again... I assume they come from the manufacturer that way, but they need to start using a wider box to avoid this problem... Or make the tail shorter! I can't comment on how well the gauge works since it never made it outside....

Broke within a year

The item arrived well packaged. The stake actually does have a two pronged part that goes into the ground. The birds are thin metal and appear to be attached well, but they look like they were painted by a child. I have the ability to repaint them, so I won't return them, but not everyone would be able to that. I also had to reposition and bend the metal so it looks straight. The glass rain guage part is really the only quality part of the whole thing. And, after reading reviews, I know I need to guard it well because it apparently can't be replaced.
