then this is the best product till date
I have been using this ADSL modem-cum-router since 2 years and till to date, it has not given me any trouble or issues what so ever. If you are a BSNL Broadband user and want to get the most out of your BSNL Telephone Broadband connection, then this is the best product till date. This product comes with a slot for 2 jacks to connect with other devices and one slot for the broadband wire connection along with a power cord slot and a reset button. Earlier, while using the broadband with the modem provided by BSNL, I had to face a lot of issues as follows:-1. There was no WiFi connection in that modem (Hence, not able to use the internet on my smartphone via WiFi) and I could only use it while working on my Computer or Laptop by the Ethernet Cable.2. I had to connect to the internet manually by selecting the option [Connect on the Broadband Application in my PC or Laptop] and whenever there was a disturbance in my telephone line, the Internet would automatically disconnect and I would have to reconnect countless number of times to be able to use the internet.3. I could hardly use 4-5 GB of Internet out of my Unlimited Package [of Rs. 675 per month along with other telephone usage charges which came to around Rs. 780 or more per month depending upon my Landline Telephone usage].Netgear D500 N150 modem-cum-router Advantage :-1. Now I am able to use the internet on my smartphone as well as any other allied devices which is able to use the internet via WiFi (the maximum no of devices that can be used simultaneously using the WiFi is 8).2. Now there is no issue of connecting to the internet via the Broadband application [as Netgear saves your User ID & password in its system during the initial setup of the modem] and it automatically connects to the internet the moment I power on the modem. Even when there is a fluctuation in my telephone line, it keeps on reconnecting on its own with the Internet. And you can even keep your modem switched on forever to be able to use the internet anytime on any of your device using the WiFi without having to switch on your PC or Laptop.3. Now I use 70-80 GB or more of internet per month using my unlimited BSNL Broadband package (which has no limit on the amount of data available to a user per day or month). The only problem with this router is that its range is limited to 1.5 floors only. So you might have to install this router at the center of your home to be able to get a proper connectivity all around the house or you might choose to spend a little more and purchase the bigger version of this modem-cum-router (Netgear D1000 or D1500).So for any of the BSNL broadband users, this product is highly recommended !!!

Worthy product, does its job
It is good for rooms not more than 2. I am using a BSNL broadband connection with it. There are many walls between my first and second room therefore the WiFi signal strength is fluctuating between 2-3-4 signals. But there is no compromise in speed. I have a 10 Mbps pack and the speed is constant 10 Mbps. And there is no hassle in installation. Either the broadband guy will do it for you or if you wish to do it by yourself, there are tons of youtube tutorials. You must have your user ID and password given by the ISP.I've read people complaining about heat issues. I'm using this router continuously for several days now and it heats a little but that's fine. This is an electrical device, it is meant to heat. This dosen't mean you have to turn off the device few days. I haven't switched off the router since I bought this (one month ago). You may want to totally unplug the device during lightening because the adapter blew off because of a very heavy lightening and thunder near my area. Because devices like routers, modems, mobiles and computers are very sensitive to lightening.Don't expect too much from this router except than very basic things. You can't check the overall monthly data usage in the router admin page, neither you have control on blocking someone, etc. Just basic connectivity options.

Just average, nothing great
Bought this one as a replacement for my airtel modem. It was quick to setup and install. Works fine but range is very less. Works fine only in 1 room, otherwise signal strength is weak. Not up to the mark product from Netgear. Paid 949 for this.

Netgear D500 N150 WiFi DSL Modem Router Review.
Bought this modem/router a couple of weeks ago. It was delivered on the expected date of delivery.Design: The top of the router has a glossy finish with some matte finish triangles on it that look quite nice. Also, the top is opaque and under it are the LED indicators that show the status of Power Input, Internet Connection, WiFi, Ethernet Port 1, Ethernet Port 2 and DSL Connection from the right to left. The router is very light weight. All the vents for the router are on the sides and the bottom which is nice as it will prevent dust from entering the router. The back of the router has the Power On/Off button, Power connector, Reset button, Ethernet LAN Port 1, Ethernet LAN Port 2 or WAN Port and the ADSL Port. You can swivel the antenna to your preferred position. It would have been great if the router had rubber feet, but it's not much of an issue.Included items: The Modem router, ADSL Filter, Phone Cable, Ethernet Cable, Power Adapter. There is a quick setup guide included too.Setup: Once all the cables are plugged into the router and the computer, the Netgear Genie page should automatically load up in your default browser. You can follow the guide to set up your Ethernet and WiFi. Just make sure you have the your ISP provided Username/Password for you internet connection. If you don't have the Username/Password then you can contact your ISP.Performance: Connection is very stable. Range is decent. File transfer from my Android device to PC (and vice versa) work as expected. I used Airdroid app that's available on the Play Store for free.Other Pros: It has a WAN port which is definitely a value add as it will let me switch to a cable internet connection if I want to. The router settings page allows you to quickly change you WiFi SSID and Password. It will also show you a list of all the active connections to the router. And, you can also create and save a backup of the router's configuration to you PC. Netgear has a Data Sheet with specifications, user manual and connection guide available on their website which might come in handy if you want to tweak the router's settings. To, conclude I would like to say that it's worth the Rs.970/- I bought it for.Hope you found this review helpful. Cheers!
