Persil Megaperls
Being German I grew up with the scent of Persil and is is a fabulous product, which works well in conjunction with my Miele front loader. Especially if you want your laundry white without adding bleach. However, charging $ 50.00 is a rip-off that almost leaves me speechless.I have been ordering Persil from Amazon the past ten years, and watched the price slowly but steadily go up from $28.00 to over $40.00. It was understandable, while the exchange rate between Euro and US $ was not favorable for the dollar. Unfortunately the price never went back down again to reflect the most current exchange rates.I just looked on Amazon.de and the same 40load package Persil sells for Euro 12.99 which today equals roughly $18.00..... I would love to continue buying it from Amazon, but I am not willing to pay $50.00 and I wish a few more users would speak up about the unreasonable price increase !A quick update, today is June 16th,2013: after my review above the $$$ price went shortly below $40.00 where it should be, and now is creeping up again. As much as I like this Product- it does indeed get all whites crisp and clean - that price is a rip-off. As much as I understand the need to make profit if you have something for sale, Every cent over $ 40.00 is too much and I wish a few more customers would pay attention. The price in Germany is still Euro 12.99 which equals $18.00.

Works well, strong smell
I like this product. It has been difficult for me to find powdered HE laundry detergent for my front loader. It does a good job cleaning my clothes and it dissolves nicely (no residue left in the detergent cup). I'm not sure that it does any better job than the liquid All Small & Mighty that I had been using before. I find the fragrance to be quite strong, although not objectionable. This box will last me a long time...I have soft water and really don't need to use much (unless the load is REALLY dirty, I'm only needing to use about 1 Tablespoon).

Great product, except the price
This is a "real deal", the exact same product you can get in other countries across the ocean. Same non-offensive fragrance, same excellent cleaning power. However, I won't be reordering it anymore, at least not from ANY 3rd-party "unofficial" resellers - the current price here is almost 2x of what it costs in other countries and while I understand that extra transportation distance costs extra money I still don't believe the price difference is reasonable. If the price still worth it for you - you should definitely stick to it.

great product - but expensive
To get clean laundry this is the best you can get.You don't need a lot of detergent and you don't need to add bleachto get your laundry clean.I also have a laundry machine that is a front loader and this machine is able to heat the water and controlthe temperature. So I get the best results with Persil - and the fabrics and the laundry machine are preserved well, the stains are gone. The only contra is:the price. In Europe I can get 2.375 kg for under 10 Euro (incl. Taxes), that isunder 15 Dollars. Here I have to pay for 1.2 kg 19.50 Dollar - that is more than twice the price!!!So two stars less for the horrifying price.

worth the cost!
I found out about Persil on a blog, and while it is super expensive, this stuff works! I have had a front loader for 5 years and never liked the way it cleaned. I tried so many different HE detergents, multiple rinses, various cycles etc. and never got the same level of cleaning compared to my old school top loader. I was just counting down the days until I could replace it with a new top loader....until I tried Persil. I can not believe the difference. My clothes (especially whites) are so much cleaner and brighter now! And I actually like my expensive front loader now. I only use 1 tablespoon (I have soft water) so I get way more than the 40 loads out of one box. So in the end, cost per load is probably still a little more expensive but I don't rush out and replace my whites after 15 loads anymore . So this little box of detergent has been a long term money saver for me!

Nothing like the product with the same name, that sells in Europe
I was very excited to find the laundry detergent I use to use back in Europe for years. It seem a bit expensive ,but I got it anyway, hoping I was getting the product I used and loved for years. I don't know who makes this, but it has absolutely nothing to do with the original Persil made and sold in Europe. Total waste of money. Neither the smell nor the washing ability is the same or even close. When you use the original, the laundry smells nice and fresh and the whites come out of the laundry machine sparkling white. I know it says European in the description, but I don't think it is. will never buy again and would not recommend to friends.

It's worth the price!
To quote another reviewer, I never expected to be writing an enthusiastic review for laundry detergent but - wow! I've wanted to try Persil for a long time, and now I wish I hadn't hesitated. Don't let the price scare you - such a small amount is needed (2 TBSP for large load with soft water) that I'm sure I'll get more than 40 loads from this box. Also, don't be worried about the scent. I like the smell of laundry detergent so I wasn't concerned, but it's not an issue. It does have fragrance when it's in the box - a clean, slightly citrus scent - but after washing there is no scent on the clothes. In fact, it smells so nice in the box that I wish it did leave a slight fragrance. My clothes and linens are an investment, and I'm happy to know I'm getting them as clean as possible without using anything harsh.I also ordered the Persil Megaperls for colors so I'll be trying that next.
