The Adventures of Pinocchio (Sterling Illustrated Classics) Hardcover – April 1, 2014

This is my first reading of the real Pinocchio. I'm reading it aloud to my kids and I have to say I often find myself cracking up at the irony and whit of this book! Not only is it a clever story & well written but the underlying wisdom is absolutely timeless and relevant for our day. My kids are literally yelling out loud to Pinocchio or slapping their foreheads every time he makes another poor choice they are so frustrated with him. It's so great! Makes for wonderful discussion as well. Highly recommend!!

Amazing story and am enjoying reading it to my 5-year-old grandson. It's old school, so don't expect any white-washing of the darker side of the tale. It's a classic treasure. That said, you may or may not like the illustrations. Though they are not bad, they aren't the ones I remember from my youth, so naturally I'm biased. They just don't satisfy 100%. No matter, it's a lovely book, and bookmark ribbon is attached (nice touch). This is a book to keep.

Most of us remember Pinocchio from the Disney film. But having just returned from Italy where Pinocchio wooden dolls abound, I was curious what the story was really about. It is a charming adventure story about a bad, sometimes stupid puppet who wants to be a boy. The illustrations are delightful. It would be a good read-to chapter book for boys (and maybe girls).

Beautiful illustrations and a total pleasure to read to my granddaughter

We bought this book for our 9-year-old foster child. He LOVES it. The artwork is wonderful, and the story is engaging -- and well translated from Italian.

Book arrived looking a little worn, used, and dirty. Otherwise, the pages are good, with beautiful pictures for every chapter.

This is a beautiful book. I purchased it for myself childhood memories and all that, it is wonderfully illustrated by Robert Ingpen a must have in my opinion. Any child would be delighted to browse and read through it pages.
