Liquitex Professional Slow-Dri Gel Retarder Effects Medium, 8-oz

It's a great product, but very limited availability in India for such items. The packing was good, delivery took a bit of time but finally got it. Works well as medium for airbrushing. Only disappointment was the manufacturing date, I mean come on even regular paints have an expiry. This one is made in 2017 delivered to me in 2020, that's why one less star rating

I must say it is not in a liquid form but to my surprised it was in a solid form not cool shinjing effects so please do not buy this product it is just wastage of money and our canvas too

I bought this so that I could customise some plain tote bags for my friends and I. Despite my relatively shoddy job on the design and execution side of things, the fabric medium worked fantastically and maintained the original paint colour really well.

I'm so happy with this! I used this to paint on clothes and it survived the wash completely unscathed, tested it without using liquitex and half the painting washed away so it definitely does the job. Just make sure you use a 50/50 ratio and heat set the painting once it's finished.Only downside is the size of the tub.

Liquitex have a great range of mediums suited to acrylic paint for ultimate effects in your creations but I’m not advanced as some other artists that use it frequently for pouring layers of acrylic, there’s some amazing instagram and YouTube videos of its sheer purpose and range of techniques to achieve certain pouting styles.I advise you practice before final execution for beginners.Where gloves and ensure you use this product In studio environment or workshop, last thing you need is this on you’re carpet, clothes and so on. It’s tough stuff.Tech:Spec - There’s no odour as such which is a positive, the texture liquidity is not too thick yet slithers and holds well in pouring motion. Allows control and enough time to apply in terms of duration of drying/setting and duration of moving and pouring the style you desire can create a range of effects.Can be combined with heavy body acrylic which will thicken the texture slightly so slower pouring in contrast to a thinner liquid pour. Amazing medium. Works brilliantly on all fabrics. Lasts ages too. Last bottle lasted 18 months. Great value for money. I use it to set inktense pencils on fabric !

As with most things on Amazon, you have to pay attention to detail with regards to size and volume when considering whether you get you get enough bang for your buck. Having mixed the medium with acrylic paint, which does have the ability to be used on most materials, this medium did have the desired effect when painting directly on fabric. In particular, it did reduce the stiffness, thereby allowing more movement and survived the scrunch test to see whether the paint would fracture. And washing the fabric at 30 degrees on a 30 minute cycle. I would not that it does, not unsurprisingly create a glossy finish and catches light whilst painting and on the final piece. In practice it means there is a glare so be ready to adjust your lighting when painting.I would recommend this product, but consider it a little on the small size for the price paid.
