Getting Started with chipKIT: The Arduino Compatible PIC32 Based Module

Pretty basic book
I think I could have found the same information online. Possibly helpful for a newbie. I thought there would be a bit more in this book.

too basic
This book is REALLY basic-more so than I expected. I know it is "Getting started" but I would have liked it to be something more of a reference and talk more about the extra functionality that the PIC32 offers. On page 14 it says that it is only covering the Arduino pins and leaves it to you to go to Microchip or Diligent websites to get the unique information. The author uses some figures in the book that look just like Fritzing and don't mention it anywhere (search for Fritzing - it's an interesting way to design a shield). I'm pretty disappointed. Microchip and Diligent have good websites with lots of information and examples. I should have just spent more time there.

the very basic book
This book covers very basic aspects of ChipKit.It describes how to connect LEDs, buttons, potentiometer, photoresistor to the board and control/sense them programmatically.Targeted audience have neither programming or electronics skills nor Arduino experience. No advanced topics such as interrupt handling and PIC32's horsepower usage are covered.

Good intro book, not very deep on ChipKit details.
Good basic intro, does not go too deep, however, that is the idea behind the book after all. Author is well known for intro books on PIC based boards.

Disappointing in lack of chipKIT information
If you're going to buy this assuming that it will give some information on how the chipKIT differs from the Arduino, you will be disappointed. This is essentially a rehashed arduino book with no real information on chipKIT.Chances are high that someone buying a chipKIT Uno already knows about arduino and is hoping find more specific information on chipKIT. Had this book been truly focused on the chipKIT, it would have been really useful. It doesn't so don't waste your money thinking you're going learn something about the chipKIT.

The Book is not worth the price.
This book is very basic. All the information in the book is on the forum for ChipKit. There was only about 4 pages of new information. I would not buy this book. Just go to the ChipKit web site and look around in the forum. You will learn more in the forum.

Wasted money!
Author tried to imitate Radio Shack book but fails by far. Hidden advertisement for his business?Wasted money. 5 minutes on Google will give you more informations.I very rarely write negative reviews but this one deserves it.
