The Perfect example of cost Vs performance
Having used <F> width nibs of Japanese make, I always wondered how <EF> would feel. I had heard several reviews which said that EF nibs tend to be a bit scratchy. Due to this I did not get down to buy a fine writing instrument with EF nib. While searching online for a reasonably priced Japanese pen with EF nib, I came across the Preppy. I was quite apprehensive, but went ahead and ordered the pen and the cartridge convertor. It arrived promptly and came with a Black ink cartridge.Platinum has hit the proverbial nail several times with this product. Even with EF nib, it is so smooth. The engineering plastic is extremely well finished and feels sturdy. The demonstrator style body is lovely and makes one smile when the ink runs through the feed. The nib is just amazing. Frankly it is far better than many of the pens that are 50 times more expensive. Writes well posted or as it is. If one does not care about the snob factor of MB and likes in the short pocket, this is the pen to go for. And you could have many of them inked up with different coloured inks and use them at the same time.Though the converter is available, it is a standard Platinum convertor, which can be used for other Platinum pens as well. So, even though it is more expensive than the Preppy, it is worth the price.Enjoy the FP experience with this piece of engineering.

Excellent writer!
This is exactly why fountain pens are superior to ballpoints. This little guy produces a really crisp line while also being extremely smooth. Definitely going in my fountain pen case next to my Pilots and hopefully future Platinums too!

Best extra fine
This extra fine from Platinum works very nicely. Great ink economy with this nib. Replaceable with a Platinum Prefonte nib assembly. Servicing is bit tough. Bit feedbacky writing, but smoother than a Lamy Safari etc. extra fine. Have used waterman and pelikan inks and also cheap Camlin inks with this Love to write with this extra fine nib.

Very good pen
I loved this one as it's extra fine nib writes very smoothly. But comes with only cartridge. Should also have converter. I had to buy it separately. Price is on the higher side. Jinhao can easily replace it.
