The instructions recommended through bolts, but I did not use them as it's a low use lock. You can get a good squeeze on a steel door without them. The screws have serrations in them to prevent them from backing out, so if you detect grinding, it's probably just doing its job. Follow the instructions exactly, particulary on mounting the lock key lever. If you try to wing it, the lock won't work right. Rotate the lock clockwise 90 deg with one hand and insert the lever with the key with your other hand. Took me a couple times. The levers have some play in them, so not super high quality. It's a value lock at a value price. It won't beat the true pro brands in fit and finish, however.

Made in Korea. Comparing with Sargent locks we had, it is not bad at all. Almost same feeling, similar weight(little lighter), works great with only 1/3 price. Both private and passage works great. Highly recommend

This is an actual commercial grade door lever, I was suspicious since the price was a lot less than a Sargent or other common product. Not necessarily something you want to install around the house.

This is a commercial (Type 2) lever lockset. As such, it's a bit heavier and larger than a typical residential lockset, but it is also more rugged than a residential lockset. I had it re-keyed to match an existing C-style keyway that we had on other doors. This lock can use a longer 6-pin cylinder and key, but I had my locksmith modify it to match the other C-style 5-pin locks and keys that we have on our building. This simply requires removing one set of pins in the cylinder and the "bible". Everything went smoothly at the locksmith's. I had tried to re-key it myself with a re-keying kit from the local home improvement store, but this turned out to be outside my capability, and I had to bring the lock cylinder and pins to my locksmith in a plastic bag. I think he smiled knowingly when I explained my trials and tribulations. $15 and a couple of hours later, I was back in business with my re-keyed lockset. Installation was fairly easy with only a long screwdriver. One other compatibility problem that I encountered was that some doors have the lockset hole drilled 2 3/8" in from the door's edge and others 2 3/4". This lock comes with the 2 3/4" latch assembly only. Fortunately, the 2 3/8" variant is available on Amazon (and probably from your locksmith as well). You can check your door by measuring with a tape measure or ruler from the door edge to the center of the lockset hole in the face of the door. The latch assembly is mechanically different from those used on strictly residential locksets.

So happy with my new doorknob! My old one has been going out for the last year. My door opens with no troubles now! It stays locked on the outside when I open it from the inside just like I wanted 😀

Fits Perfectly, very heavy duty

My handy man told me this one is hard to install. After 3 weeks use, sometimes the push button won't pop up when use key to open.

I am pleased with this product. Installation was easy and the hardware functions very well. Last week I completed a four-star review indicating that a small part called a lever filler was not in the package received. This was a mistake on my part. The lever filler was factory installed and not a part I needed to attend to. My apologies to the vendor.

Exactly as described. Super easy to install. A monkey could do it. Seems stronger than residential hardware.

Works pretty good for a security door. I like the way it will always stay locked or if you pop the button it unlocks.

I ordered this for my new exterior door on my home. Nice lockset. I have a commercial lockset on my garage but I didn't install it. I decided against it for my house as I thought it was too excessive plus the difficulty. If you need a super duty lockset and have experience with these kind of locks, I would get it. It looks like very good quality.
