Disappointed overall.
My first Montessori book, as a home educator and former teacher I was quite interested.Whilst I have read the philosophy behind the style I found none of my three (6 and under) really enjoyed this. In particular the feeling aspect (textured countries) was too subtle for younger children, a coarser sandpaper would be better for this. The older one fed back he didn't like the country outlines, as they didn't place where they were on the globe for him and he found it had to identify them. The youngest wasn't attracted to the imagery or colours.

Great resource for all young children. Arrived quickly
Highly recommend this book for all young children (its one of our 2 year olds favourite books) and also older children who may find various methods of learning difficult for a variety of reasons. It has really helped refresh my 8 yo autistic sons knowledge of geography from before he was home educated and has been a great resource to refer to during other units of study to link everything together nicely. Both our younger children love the imagry and the textures used for each of the continents as both are very sensory. My 2 year old actually recognised Asia on a different map of the world at the local museum after reading this book together semi regular for about 3 weeks. We read it at least once a week with her now and quite regularly during home ed activities for the 8 yo. Im sure all parents who love montessori style resources will love this book as much as we do

Not in line with Montessori colours and innacurate
This book is not in line with the Montessori map work you would find in authentic Montessori classrooms. I should have seen that the cover shows the wrong colour but didn't pay close enough attention. Antartica is purple instead of white, Africa is red instead of dark green and Europe is dark green instead of red. The shape and proportion of the continents are highly innacurate too. It might be a decent map book for babies but certainly not for a Montessori child or classroom!

The colours confused my class as it did not match ...
The colours confused my class as it did not match the Continent Puzzle Map. Not sure what the reason is for this
