Its basic, and opens cans well! I have a rescue so we open alot of cans. I think my last can opener hit 100,00 miles and just crapped out. Its really hard to explain to hungry dogs over 70 lbs who KNOW what is in the can that isnt opening. They're like, "Gimme the CAN!" Sufficient to say, we are back in business. Thank you.

I bought this for a Christmas gift for my mother in law and she said it’s very hard to turn and asked me to exchange for a different brand. She said it was worse that the one they had that I was trying to replace with a new, better one. She’s not arthritic but said it’d be impossible for anyone who is or even remotely weak handed. Unfortunately it says it’s not returnable now, even though Amazon’s holiday return policy says I can return until Jan 31st.

It looked like it was going to be an easy operation, until you puncture the can and attempt to turn the wheel. The whole mechanism shifts and turns in at at angle, only managing to mangle the lid it takes several attempts to finally pry the lid off. Very poor quality.

So I bought this after none of my can openers could break through a can of yams! Let me tell u how smooth this thing cut through the can like butter and a smooth cut too no ridges

This opener worked fine for the first 18 months, after which time it was able to puncture cans but was unable to crank forward. My guess is that the flimsy metal has deformed to a point where it can no longer create enough pressure/friction. I contacted the company 2 weeks ago about their lifetime guarantee but have yet to hear back. Would not buy again.

Opens cans without lots of hand effort. Working well but seems just a bit flimsy. Hope it continues to open cans as easily as when new. Haven't put it in the dishwasher yet so I don't know how it will work after a dishwasher washing.

Looks great but dows not work well on all cans. Does not grip can top to cut open.This started after 4 or 5 cans. I am a single guy and used it maybe onnce a week on evap milk for doffee.I would not advise buying this item base on my experience.I cleaned out the drawer it was in, which prompted me to leave this review. I did replace it with one from the Dollar Store, which axtually works!

I am very disappointed, this opener had such high marks but on the VERY first use, it cut a thin shard of metal right into the can. I was lucky to have noticed before I served the food to my family.
