Echo Valley 8440 4-Inch Glow-in-the Dark Illuminarie Gazing Globe, Blue Swirl

I have been looking for this size blue and green glow in the dark globes for awhile. Using as topper on two of my deck posts. Easy to install with 1.5" spade to drill hole and they fit right in the hole. The bottom is a regular gazing ball extension with rubber cover. Its something different that looks pretty cool. Disappointed that they did not glow on the first night, but hoping that will come with time as they absorb sunlight. But even if not, they still look cool during the daytime and match my "beachy" deck theme. The glass is fairly thick so you don't feel you will break them with a touch.

I've had this globe for awhile now, but my husband just put it out a few weeks ago. I like the size of it and the colors are very beautiful, but I"ve never seen it glow in the dark. The sticker on it said it would glow in the dark but it doesn't and it gets alot of sun during the day. I don't know if there is a solar chip in it or not but neither my husband or I could find anything that would asbsorb the solar and have it glow after dark. If anyone knows why it doesn't glow, let me know. Maybe there is something we overlooked.

It does not glow in the dark at all! It also has a large bulbous thing about an inch wide that protrudes about an inch.Would not recommend as it is not at all as described.

This cost much less than the one I bought at the outlet of a major garden center, and was the same thing. Lovely color. Glows in the dark, but not too much; I live in the country and don't like a lot of outside light at night. If you are looking for something to light up your garden, this isn't it. It just gives off a friendly glow at night and beautiful color during the day.

I just purchased the Echo Valley 8440 Globe.Suppose to glow in the dark.What a piece of crap.Not only is the thing smaller then I thought it would be.Softball size.It sat in the Florida sun allllll day long after I got the thing and expecting this soft glow in the dark after sun down, the only thing that glowed was my face from embarrassment having my wife outside waiting for sun down.I bought a glass ball for $20.Its a scam and I trust Amazon most of the time, BUT this was a rip OFF.Don't bother getting this junk.Larry

This globe is pretty but it doesn't glow in the dark even if it has been out in the sun all day. I purchased the solar bit that is advertised in the box. I'm not happy with that either because it doesn't charge up the crystals any better. However, I made a solar element that is positioned at the very center of the ball. It is a single clear LED that not only lights up the entire ball but looks like a star at the center of the blue field. Echo Valley should sell something like what I made!

I do love it! It was smaller than I expected but my fault for not paying attention to the measurements. Therefore, it didn't ft my base but we pained a small flower pot and it looks great on my outside coffee table. :)

Waste of money it does not glow, yet it's in direct sunlight all day.

Doesn't really glow at all. Don't waste your money if that's what u want. It will glow a little once it has a direct light on it....like anything else that's luminous.

I bought this as a gift for my mother and she loves it. It really does glow nicely and I hope to be able to see it in the garden this summer. I would recommend this item and may buy another.

It's beautiful, but smaller than I was expecting. Pictures make it seem larger!
