What age is recommended for size large?

My Grandson is 7 and we measured his head according to the size chart and ordered medium. Hopefully it fits perfect when he opens it along with a dirt bike Christmas Eve. We keep a growth chart of the kids and his Dad said let’s measure your head as well, so he is very unsuspecting of the gift.
