You get what you buy and I love that I bought this item! We have hard water in our home to the point where hard water build-up in the form of white, chalky, hard-to-remove spots appear on our sinks, faucets, countertops, and even our cars. It made our skin feel itchy and tight to the point where lotions didn't work and our hair was brittle and felt like a head-full of split ends even right after going to the salon. Then I found this item. It's super easy to install, comes with an extra filter and everything you need to use it right away, even the Teflon tape! My hair feels baby-soft, not brittle or full of split ends that didn't exist. Hi, I have it installed it works , it does help the condition of my hair. I'm a little disappointed that it doesn't really take out the dissolved minerals like hard water deposits. I have only had it for a short time so I really can't give a good evaluation.
