Lauren Hillenbrand is a great writer, the best I have ever read in my long life. She did a great job writing Seabiscuit. This writer is a very poor writer. She took a great story and turned it to garbage. She took two wonderful characters, Man O War and Will Harburt and made the story Crap. Do not buy this trash or anything written by Ann S Reilly (Author).

Don't waste your time and money on this book. As a self proclaimed Man O' War scholar for many decades I was thilled to see another book written about the great horse.The real story of the greatest athlete of all time does not need this made up recreation of conversations between Big Red and his groom, Will Harbut. Don't get me wrong, I have a copy of the Saturday Evening Post cover of Big Red and Will framed on my wall. It brings tears to my eyes to see them together. They had a special bond. But a book with dialogue like "I lub dis hoss" is too much. There are better histories of this magnificent horse out there. There is so much more to the life of the Horse of the Century than this. Visit the grave at the Kentucky Horse Park and you will feel his spirit. Big Red is still with us today. American Pharoah's breeding goes back 17 times to Man O' War. He is the greatest horse of all time, and he made Will Harbut famous.

This is a phenomenal work of fiction inspired by the heartwarming bond between a man and the greatest racehorse who ever lived.I highly recommend this book to anyone of any age.It is a classic American story that I found to be far more touching than the book on Seabiscuit or Secretariat.I hope this book will be made into a major motion picture.

Great book about "The Mostest Hoss"

What a beautiful book...I wanted to keep reading and hearing more!!! I felt like I was on the tour with the others and could hear Will telling all the stories of Big Red!!! I laughed and oh did I cry...thank you so much for taking the time to write something so wonderful, it should be a movie or audio book too! After finishing I wanted to pick it back up again and read it all once more...beautifully done, highly recommend to anyone who loves bonds between human and animal...so special...
