Exceptional remaster and packaging of this important album.

Apart from actually getting the original 2 inch recording tapes to remix, this remaster succeeds in adding much to Magma's definitive work. I bought MDK as a 17 year old in 1974 and I know it's been my most listened to album ever since, I know every track and choral excerpt. This new release adds much clarity to the choral backing and vocal from Klaus Blasquiz and depth and brightness to the piano. The subliminal bass I experienced for the first time, not remembering it on the vinyl or subsequent cd releases, but it is subtle.What the remaster cannot achieve is the mix Vander would have wanted, with his powerful drumming to the fore, but then would the outstanding choral passages have been so effective? Perhaps Gomelsky in his misguided wisdom got it right?MDK remains the most powerful album I have ever heard, imagine if you can the thrill of hearing this at the time? Also to my utter delight they are actually playing in my hometown in a matter of weeks!

I originally bought the LP from a charity shop for £1. Looked interesting and was completely blow away by the powerful chants and music. I was hooked !Sadly, lost the LP though time and travel. Was expecting to be disappointed, but was delighted.It's all there and the booklet has all the information you need (In French).The power and magic of this album still lives !
