Very good reference book.
I had it in my possesion since the publication of its first edition first lot print. I bought it this time to give it to my neice as birthday gift. This book well covers the common reptilian and amphibian species of India.

No nonsense and downright useful.
People looking for a book on such a specific topic will already know the pros and cons of a particular book from their peer. For me its a no frill, very informative book with nice paper and print quality.

Fantastic book for beginners in herpitology
Superb book for beginners in herpitology. Mr. Daniel'S field experience in the filed of snakes and other reptiles can be clearly seen in the book. Clear and simple explanation makes this book very user friendly. However if th e e were color photographs instead, Black and white it would have been even more beautiful. Nevertheless a great book to have..

Unsatisfactory book
Would have loved it if it contains the list of all reptiles... Only common snakes are listed. Rare ones not listed...
