Very nice design, and good functionality - but the initial bright, shiny color is now dull, dark grey. This is very disappointing.How can Arthur Court sell these things without some kind of instructions on how to prevent the loss of brightness, and when lost, how to get it back. Does anyone know if there is a way to get rid of that dull dark grey color? What causes it? Is it acid in the food, or something else?I recently purchased some other Arthur Court metal items -- they're still shiny, but I worry that they may lose their color and shine too. Do all Arthur Court metal items become dark grey? If someone knows, please respond.

I bought these tongs for my wife based on the picture and the many positive reviews. They initially looked OK; however, they're made of aluminum so they're very light weight. And worse, they turn turn black with use. I'm guessing this is due to washing the aluminum tongs in the dishwasher. To be fair, I now see that the product description recommends hand washing, but who wants to do that when there are so many other salad tongs that are dishwasher safe?So if you buy these tongs, be prepared to wash them by hand and perhaps polish them to keep them looking good. Otherwise, you'll wind up with dull, gray salad tongs. I'm now off to buy some new salad tongs that will actually stay shiny.

I like the idea and design. Have to say I think price is a bit too high for the quolety but still I kept it.
