I love this book! It's perfect for curious elementary students, complete with captivating illustrations and educational text. Complete with a Galactic Glossary in the back! Douglas Florian is an amazing author and illustrator. Every teacher should own this book!

I like Douglas Florian poetry, so I am somewhat biased in my view, however, this is not one of his best. I teach a solar system unit and I use these poems as a way to mix fiction with non-fiction. His poems are good to use in a classroom because they are neither too simplified or to etherial. I got a fantastic price with Amazon and an unexpected plus was to received a signed book. Great seller.

Comets, Stars, the Moon, and Mars is a terrific book. I ordered for a unit on the solar system I was doing for a TESOL class. The poems are fun and the illustrations are beautiful mixed media designs. A terrific book for a lesson in science, or just to have at home for a child that may, or may not, be a science whiz.

This book is verse, with puns and humor, but still scientific. The format, a book with holes in the pages to show glimpses of other pages, is fun for children.

I recently purchased this book for my grandson's fifth birthday. He absolutely loves the book and is now quoting some of the poems back to me! He is crazy over astronomy so loves this book with the poems about the planets and stars. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good book to share with their grandchildren.

I bought this to use in my 1st grade classroom after they had researched each of the planets in our solar system. Students enjoyed the paintings as well as the poems about each planet.
