Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), also known as sunroot, sunchoke, earth apple, or topinambour, is a species of perennial sunflower native to north America, grown for its potato-like tubers. The tubers are eaten raw or cooked via various methods and are tender with a sweet, nutty flavor. Search online for “Jerusalem artichoke recipes”. They contain about 2% protein, no oil, and little starch. Sunchokes store starch as the carbohydrate inulin (76%), which is safe and beneficial for diabetics. They are rich in prebiotics, which are important for intestinal health. Tubers are usually harvested in the late summer, although you can leave them in the ground and dig them any time of year, which makes them the perfect “emergency” food. Very Pleased
My chokes arrived quickly. Included with the clean, healthy tubers were instrucions-very clear, concise instructions telling me how to plant and what to expect as well as how and when to harvest! I followed the instructions and planted. This was only 4 weeks ago and I now have plants that are a foot tall and quite healthy looking. The attention to detail is refreshing and admirable. I'm looking forward to harvesting this fall and enjoying the flowers as I await the harvest. I will definitely do buisness with Verdant Treasures again. Very reliable.

Beyond Expectation
This was by far the best shipped plant i have ever received from anyone. I have gotten plants from all over the place, many have lived, some have died. Packaging is important but not everyone goes to great lengths to make sure the product ends up in the best condition to reach the buyer. I didn't have super high hopes for these chokes because of their short shelf life but when they arrived they looked amazing and fresh, very healthy. They were well packaged and included directions for planting. Very professional but with a little extra flare that bespoke of love. The seller put a lot of thought and care into growing AND shipping their plants. I followed the instructions and my plants are growing beautifully. I will be buying more again next Spring. 11/10 would recommend.

Loved this order. Product was beautiful tubers that are so nice. Thank you as I am thrilled with this product. I ate one as I had never tried one before and I loved how clean they were and very crunchy. Excellent product.

Outstanding quality!
Right off the bat out of the packaging these tubers where excellent quality, no mushy spots and once planted all of them sprouted big beautiful plants. 1st harvest and taste test was good, they do indeed taste like artichokes. After harvesting, I moved the whole plants plus immature tubers into new bed where they have more room to spread and a month later those have sprouted. Amazing!

OMG these are over 9 ft tall and still growing
These are the first ones that I have seen go nuts with height. All the ones I have planted in the past never got over 4 ft. They are so tall they are starting to fall over. Might have been nice to have seen that in the description.Floor of my garage is above the top of the fence on the left. So about 4' of foundation, and another 5' to the bottom of the window

Great seller and great product.
The seller was great. Gave us tips and extras. Plants grew great. Especially since we left them in the bag, in the fridge longer than recommended
