Great quality for the price point
Great quality for the price point they are at. If you are a beginner/slightly more advanced and want versatility then I would suggest these tools. I use a CBN wheel 180 grit and a 600 grit for sharpening, and I get a very sharp edge that holds for a while. If you were to buy these tools separately, you would be paying much more for them not as a set. I would say these are a mid range quality set. Great for beginners/slightly more advanced.

Not bad for the price, but be prepared to regrind the edges.
The upside:Blades are M2 high-speed steel. You can finish average jobs without stopping to sharpen.Handles are ash. Not bad for the price. Have you priced 2" x 16" ash turning blanks? The downside:The description says they're ready to sharpen, but most of mine needed to be re-ground.Sharpening turning tools is tricky. It helps to have the blades ground correctly to begin with, but these were pretty uneven. They looked like they'd been ground without jigs. The round-nosed scrapers weren't ground to a consistent radius, and the 3/4" round-nosed scraper was ground to a much longer radius than the 1 1/2". It was almost square. (See photo showing the four round-nosed scrapers.)I suppose you get what you pay for, and grinding your tools properly is a skill you need to learn, but when they aren't done right to begin with, a beginner wouldn't know what they're supposed to look like without doing some homework.I should probably point out that there's no case included. Each tool comes in a vinyl pouch that you can take off and throw away, then either build yourself a nice case or rack or find space on your pegboard.

A friend recommended these to me
A friend recommended these to me, and he was right. Nice tools, they hold an edge better than my old set, and the set includes all the turning tools I expect to need for many years to come. Like always, they need to be sharpened to the final edge, but are serviceable even as they are shipped (minus the anti-corrosion gunk they have all over them). I have turned half a dozen bowls with this new set, and can't believe I have simply gotten by with the six knives I already had for the past twenty years. Duhhhh...

Not for beginners.
Broke a tool and a beginner doesn't need half these tools. I bought them thinking I would give them a try. Spend your money on better tools.
