I almost gave this 5 stars, not because it was all perfect outside the box, but because I had what I needed or bought a few easy pieces of hardware to make it perfect. Given some of the cons, I decided 4 starts was more appropriate. I would buy it again, as long as you don't mind buying a few things you need that aren't included in the box. you might spend as much money on add-ons as you spent on the kit. I previously purchased the Jugader 160 ft zip line and set it up on a 120 ft span. My review references the Jugader and compares this to that one. This one was set up on a 135 ft span. If installing on flat land, you need to know that the zip line needs an 8% fall, which means the starting point has to be very High. That seems so obvious when you think about it, but that caught us off guard. Pros: -1/4 inch line. Much heavier and better quality than the jugader, and higher weight capacity. -All hardware appears to be stainless steel. The 1/4 U bolts appear to be less than half the size of the 1/4 U Bolts at the hardware store, but they seem to work just fine. Better U bolts than what came with Jugader. -You feel safer letting the kids go on this one than the Jugader. Cons: - There was no cable gripper or come-along in the box. There's no way to install this without a way to tighten the line. Jugader had a cable gripper included, so I used that one . - The turnbuckle needed a better bolts and nuts instead of the included hardware, which I was concerned wouldn't hold up very long. I bought at hardware store. - The turnbuckle feels a little undersized, but includes a backup safety cable in case the turnbuckle fails. - The instructions weren't very good. I knew how to assemble it because I recently assembled the Jugader one, so it didn't bother me. I'm glad I didn't need to rely on the instructions, though. - The trolley isn't removable from the line on this one. On the Jugader, you can remove the trolley when you are done, which keeps kids off the line and keeps the trolley indoors when not in use. I used the trolley that came with the jugader one. it would really stink to get the whole thing assembled and then realize the trolley has to be installed on the line before you tighten it. - the plastic seat was better on the jugader. we used that one along with the jugader trolley. - Both Jugader and this one have a very bad backup harness. - It says 150 feet. I don't think there's any way it will cover a 150 ft span. My span was about 135 feet and I don't think there was enough line left over for it to cover another 15 feet. I just had a few extra feet left over. Recommendations and other thoughts: - Over 130 feet, my zip line start 17 feet high. If my kid falls off the seat, I don't want a belt jerking their hips, stomach, back, or rib cage. Invest in a real climbing or safety harness! - you'll need a friend to help install, and a come along or cable gripper and strap to tighten. - Buy a better trolley that you can remove from the line easily. - This is really designed for kids. there will be a lot of sag, even if you tighten it up to where it is straight. Just because you are under the weight limit doesn't mean it will work as good for the grown ups. This is great for kids to use, but once you get over 120 lbs or so there's going to be a lot of sag and you'll probably drag the ground even if the finish point is 6 or 7 ft high. - I built a wood platform about 10 ft off the ground using 4x4 posts for better access to the starting point. think about how kids are going to get to the top, especially if the ground is flat and the starting point is 17 feet high.

Hardware is decent and nice to have a turnbuckle (though I didn’t use it). Cable is high quality. Great that the kit includes a harness, though I would appreciate instructions on how to use the harness (maybe I missed it?!?). Most importantly, you’re going to have a hard time getting the 150’ line tight because it is heavy at that length. You’ll need a good valley/ravine/dip between start and finish if you can’t find a way to get it tight. You’ll need a mechanical means of stretching that line. Read on … I ditched the turnbuckle. I used the included fixed point (the end prepared with a loop and the included short length to go around the tree) at the start. At the finish I used chains. I had one length that went around the tree, and another length to attach to the end of the line (with the included U cinch bolts to form another fixed point loop). This allowed me to connect the chains together at whatever links made the thing tight, with a lot more adjustable length than the turnbuckle. After a couple initial tries with the turnbuckle that needed multiple attempts to re-do the endpoint length, the extra variability with the chains got it done way faster. But most importantly, I needed a tractor to stretch that heavy line tight enough. The end of the line was attached to a chain, I put a hook on that chain, put the hook on the tractor bucket, drove the tractor to stretch the line, then connected the chain to the other chain length around the tree with a U shackle. I don’t know how I could have gotten that line tight any other way. You’re gonna need some heavy mechanical help.

Overall this is a great kit. I have kids 6-12 and they get tons of exercise running up and down and absolutely love it. I installed without a platform so the kids have to pull each other up. This means they have to get along or no one really gets to enjoy it much (they can only get themselves part way up without a friend helping). Caveats- Most people online tell you, you will need a come along to get the install tight enough. I found this to be the case. Maybe a really strong man could pull it tight enough. Also, the U-bolts were not removable once installed, and I needed to tighten them, then use a come along to pull the line in tighter, loosen the U-bolts, tighten up the line, then tighten the U-bolts again before removing the come along. Due to the U-bolts getting stuck, I had to have my handy man come out and cut the bolts off. He couldn't figure out how the U-bolts were stuck. I hand tightened them and I am not a strong woman. It seems to me that the bolts and nuts might have been threaded slightly different. In any case, it made for a very frustrating day and an expense for me to have them removed and replaced with good quality U-bolts. The rest of the materials seem great.
