The best LED based HRM on the market.
I use this for mainly HIIT and it does a good job. It won’t necessarily reflect an entirely accurate reading while in the midst of doing an exercise like pull-ups, but it quickly reads your HR in between sets and accurately lets you know when you’re at your rest threshold with no appreciable delay. The HR zone LED is incredibly handy so that you don’t have to look at your phone for your actual HR and, instead know that your good to go with the next exercise when you’re in the Green. Conversely, you know to pull back a bit if you’re in the Red. I’ve also done a bit of cycling with this and, as the literature states, it is much more suited (as all HRMs are) to longer duration aerobic exercise monitoring. I’ve not done anything other than pair with the native Scosche app, FYI.The arm band is very comfortable and for people with latex allergies it is a great alternative to many chest HRMs that have silicone ingrained in their bands. The fact that this goes on your arm and does not have silicone makes this a no-brained for me. I’ve read a lot of professional reviews comparing this LED HRM to chest ECG and other wrist LED HRMs and they stated that the Scosche HRM, due to the stable upper arm location and added yellow LED, beat all other LED HRMs and very closely matched traditional chest ECG HRMs in terms of not only overall accuracy, but also the ability to quickly gauge changes in rhythm. I’ve found that to be entirely true, especially compared to the Apple Watch, which proved to be entirely worthless for HIIT.

Great alterative to a chest strap; great customer support; better than the Polar.
Original review (2018): Really like this so far. I got it because it was annoying to wear a chest strap when biking. I wear this when riding outside or on Zwift or when checking HRV in the morning. Fits comfortably. Doesn’t slip. Seems to track accurately. Once it read very high initially but settled in quickly after i adjusted it on my arm. Haven’t had any of the problems referenced by other reviewers. The iOS app is fine but i only used it initially. I ordered 2 more for use in other locations.Update (2020) : I now own 4 of these for use in various places. I will never go back to chest straps again. I've used them road biking, mountain biking, and on indoor trainers & treadmills. They are reliable and last. I disagree with reviewers who say they aren't accurate or have dropouts. I've never had problems with either issue. If there is a drop out it is usually due to poor positioning on the arm (user error).Out of the 4 units that I have, one recently failed after ~2 years of use. I think it was a battery issue as it crapped out on a ride and then would not hold a charge (although the charging light blinked). After a few tries it wouldn't even show the charging light. I emailed Scosche via their website and they responded within 24 hours. They helped me resolve a firmware update issue with another unit (user error again; I stopped the app midway through a firmware update) and then, after I sent a requested video of the unresponsive unit, they sent a replacement which I received in a matter of days. I was super happy with the customer service accessibility and response. While waiting for the replacement I had tried a Polar OH1+, but I don't like it compared to the Scosche. The Polar is smaller & lighter but it is less comfortable as the strap presses the small circular monitor into your arm instead of being even and spread out like the Scosche. The Polar charger, while small and simple, is fiddly and easy to lose. The battery life on the Polar is 50% of the Scosche's as well. I'll be sticking with the Scosche.

The plastic frame of the Scosche Rhythm 24+ is unreliable. Do not buy!
This is my 3rd Scosche HRM. The 1st was a gift from my wife. It worked well, was accurate and provided lots of data linked to the iCardio app. That 1st one became obsolete after upgrade to ANT+ Bluetooth. I liked the interface so much I purchased the Scosche Rhythm + and had over 1000 workout sessions logged even after I had to jury-rigged the armband when the frame broke. #2 just stopped working, it wouldn't charge. Again I like the interface and data provide with iCardio app. So after much research and having two Fitbit not work I ordered the Rhythm 24+ on 1 June 2020. It arrived 3 June 2020 and I used it that day on a 25 mile bike ride. Great data, comfortable and working like a charm. Two days later the first side of the plastic frame broke while I was on my Schwinn Spin bike. I jury-rigged the armband and completed my training session. Two days later the other side of the frame also broke. I've had the item all of five (5) days and its functionally unusable. Luckily I purchase an extended warranty so now I have to go through that red tape. Heartrate Training is essential for me in training. I'm wedded to the data which also include calories and time is 5 heartrate zones. So having this HRM is an important part of my training. Having paid $105.00 w/tax is affordable for me but I expect some quality in the product. I regret this purchase.
