Very good knife, especially considering the price
This is a budget friendly, Damascus bladed knife. For the price I could easily accept some flaws that I wouldn't in a more expensive knife, yet there's really nothing much to complain about with the knife. The overall length is closer to 8.0" rather than the 8.5" as stated in the ad, but this is still a larger knife. I have no reason to believe that the blades are not a true Damascus steel. It has a very pleasing pattern. The horn scales have a nice, subtle patten and fits perfectly against the brass(?) bolsters. This is a slip joint knife, so it does not have a locking blade. There's no wobble to the blade when it's open, and it closes securely, but do be careful. This is perhaps larger than most slip joint knives and you might use it for more demanding tasks than letter opening and cutting up fruit. Although it does look a bit fancier than what you'd likely use while camping. The blades were reasonably sharp out of the box, although will likely need sharpening sooner rather than later. Not really an issue for me as I do regularly sharpen the knives that I use. This is only the second knife ever that came completely slathered in some sort of grease, almost like petroleum jelly. Sure, there's no rust anywhere, but it was a pain to wash it all off. Even after doing my best to wash it all off and having it in my pocket for a day, it still feels a bit slippery. I'm sure that eventually it'll be fine, but it still took more effort to clean than I would have liked. The only minor problem I have with the knife is that the nail nicks aren't all that good for me. Seems like it's more of a rounded cut rather than having a sharp edge, and my fingernail doesn't catch it well and the blade can be hard to open. I can pinch the larger blade to pull it open, but the drop point blade can't be pinched with the other blade closed, so it's hard for me to open.I likely wouldn't use the sheath, but it certainly seems well made. Thick leather has double stitching on the body and is nicely embossed. It's a very dark brown color which goes nicely with the not quite black colored scales.Definitely a nice knife that I'm happy to own and would certainly recommend.

Very Nicely Surprised
I had low expectations for this knife, but thought it was worth a try. Some real workmanship here ... blade, handle material, brass - all beautiful. Very solid lock-up and blade is centered. It came very well oiled (almost like vaseline), and the sheath is nice full-grain leather and fits well. We'll have to see how it all holds up, but my first impression is "great purchase." I'll be proud to give this to my grandson. (NOTE: I have a similar review for a single blade knife from this company, and I'm giving an identical review because they're both great)

No Locking Blade
A No Locking Blade makes it dangerous particularly for a younger person.Mine came with one side of it scuffed up on handle.Looked like it been in storage a long time and had wear.Beautiful Knife though and the Damascus Blades are great.Price is okay but it does not deserve a 5 star rating.

Bend in one of the blades!
I received my knife today and it has a noticeable bend in one of the blades. Very disappointed with this knife, its not the end of the world and the knife can still be used. So starting off this knife isnt doing so well, it is a beautiful knife but the quality control has me worried about my purchase. Geuss im gonna have to find out if it can hold up to some abuse. To be on the safe side i purchased a buck off amazon so if this knife breaks while i work on a deer i have a back up.

Good knife, use as belt or large pocket.
Nicely made, suspect Turkish origin. Not marked, but with a bit of nice file work on blades and springs. Smooth operation.

The one knife to carry!
Absolutely beautiful knife that is easy to sharpen and use. I will be buying a few more as gifts.
