I needed a small torch quickly for a soldering job so I bought this at a hardware store . It got the job done, but the auto-lighting works poorly. It takes usually 3 to 5 attempts for it to light. I only used it a few times so I cannot speak to its durability.

Does not work at all, even after filling it up completely

Does not light at all, period. Tried lighting 15 times following all instructions, nada. Amazon - please discontinue selling this - it's junk. For $30 - what a waste - taking it back ASAP. Waste of time and money.

This torch does not work. I've filled it 4 times and the flame does not last long. It takes 5-10 times to get it to finally light. Not that this matters, because the flame is so small that it doesn't torch anything anyway. If you try to open the air intake hole to make the flame hotter, the flame goes out completely.

So I got this as a gift as i mentioned i would love to make deserts at home. It took refilling this torch three times to get the color at a moderate melting. this is my first culinary torch but it seems to be alot of hassle.

A good crème brûlée requires a good torch. This isn't it. After just one week of use, it stopped working. It felt like cheap quality plastic and had an awful rubber smell to it.
