acid dyes
The product is as advertised- and just like the ones I have purchased in past-- I wanted to order all my acid dyes from the same seller- makes the most sense but amazon has a crazy listing when it comes to these dyes- each color came from a different seller-- why? I do not know- I tried to order from the same to get all in one package but that was too difficult - not the sellers fault but rather how amazon lists these items

Gorgeous Dye for Protein Fibers with Some Caveats
If you want an electric pink on steroids--this is it! I love it. It's the color of a pink highlighter. I don't know if it actually fluoresces, but it's bright. It's exactly the shade I wanted to dye wool with.However. I dyed some raw farm wool last night with this. The pH was 4 and the dye pot was held at just under a simmer for over an hour and the dye did not exhaust. I let it cool completely in the pot overnight. And today, when rinsing, there was a lot of bleeding. Now, the wool is not oversaturated because I used this dye very dilute. I wasn't going for a deep dark pink--I was going for a very light color. So I'm worried about fading for two reasons: 1) it's fluorescent which means it's fugitive (fades quickly with time, exposure to sunlight etc) and 2) The dye bath did not exhaust and the dye is running during rinsing which means it may run every time I wash this wool.So. This is quite the dilemna. I'm contemplating overdying it with a different brand in a ho-hum magenta just so I can be sure that it will actually stay pink. I'm not sure I want to mess with this anymore because dying wool is such a big production.BUT. Despite manufacturers stating that acid dyes need a pH of 4.5 to effectively strike, some dyes seem to need a much lower pH to fully take up. pH is on a logarithmic scale--so 4 should have done the trick, but I'll try going a bit lower to see what happens with this. One more chance Jacquard. I'll report back later if I come to any distinct conclusions about this. Every dye is different. I wish the manufacturers would give us all the info on each individual dyes quirks so we can make informed decisions instead of having to find out on our own after paying for the dye. Harumph.

lovely colors, fun to dye with
For whatever reason, the online store I often buy my dyes from doesn't carry navy blue, so I bought it here.Jacquard dyes are easy to use; you can easily mix it in warm water for a liquid dye solution, or sprinkle it on damp fiber. Colors can be set with household white vinegar or citric acid and heat.Safety guidelines: don't use pots/tools for food or food prep once they have been used to handle acid dyes. Always wear a face mask or respirator when handling the dye in powder form (i.e. measuring, mixing, sprinkling).

Black as Night
First things first.Protect everything you don't wish to dye. Wear gloves, a mask (which I didn't do, foolishly), old clothes, plastic wrap your counters (maybe your floors as well). Have Clorox wipes on hand if you're working on a stove; use a pot that's stainless/enamel/glass; thermometer (I used a glass candy thermometer that clipped on the side of the pot). When I opened the dye, it looks rust-toned even though the label says Jet Black #626. Do NOT let this fool you. Once the powder hit the water, the resulting color black. Jet Black. Black as the Abyss, Black. Demon Eyes, Black. Seriously Damn Black. The directions I printed out for acid dyeing on the stovetop mentioned leaving the items in the dye bath for 30 minutes (or longer) in order to get a deep, rich color. The items being dyed had been in the bath for a mere 5 minutes when they had taken on a good deal of the dye already - sporting a deep inky black - giving me a clear idea of how well this product worked.I must say, if this initial "test" is any indication of how this product performs, then I've so many wonderful plans for the future.

Weight is vastly wrong.
This product does not weigh 0.16kg, it weighs 0.014kg, a huge difference for this type of product. I would consider shopping somewhere else.
