EDITED: so I did indeed contact the Gaiam company over the issue outlined below, and they absolutely insist that the ball is the correct size. They further insist the ball will indeed inflate to proper size when their instructions are followed. Trying to communicate with them is an exercise in futility; Gaiam believes there is no problem. So believe as they will, I'm here to say buyer beware!Like so many other customers have stated, I really wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this ball. As you can see by the photo, my supposedly 52 cm chair replacement ball is nowhere near 52 cm in size. (The gray ball next to it is 65 cm, and as you can see the new purple ball is maybe half the size.)I actually contacted Gaiam before ordering this replacement ball for my chair. They verified I needed the 52 cm size. Packaging that came with the ball does indeed say, "Gaiam chair replacement ball" but this is not at all correct.I plan to contact the company to encourage them to read through the Amazon reviews on this and all of their balance balls. Over and over again you can see that customers receive the balls only to find them the completely wrong size. So disappointed.

Okay so I ordered this replacement ball and inflated it when I got it... the thing was at least 15cm too small! Disappointed, I came to the reviews here and read that others had experienced the same thing, but most had success when inflating it over a few days.It took me less than 24 hours to get it to the right size. Just inflate it as much as you can, let it sit, and come back in a few hours/overnight and do it again. Rinse and repeat until it's fully grown, lol.GIVE IT TIME y'all.

After reading the reviews (and the accompanying comments that go with them) I have decided to give this replacement ball 5 stars. As the replies to the comments go, this ball (so they say) will inflate to the correct size. I will attempt to inflate this ball to the correct size. As of right now, the ball is MUCH smaller than the original. I will give the company the benefit of the doubt and rate the ball accordingly after I attempt to make it the same size. I do hope that it is more durable than the ball that it is replacing. I will update this review as needed, just like all my other reviews.***UPDATE*** Ok, so I lowered my rating to 3 stars because this is definitely NOT a replacement ball for the chair. I bought two chairs, the cat (damn cat) popped one of the balls. I ordered this ball as a replacement and it is clearly a different size no matter how much I try to inflate it. It is just plain NOT the same size as the original. It's smaller. Change the description and I will change my rating back to 5 stars. Why? Because my wife likes the smaller size of the ball...sometimes. The only difference is that it is blue. Both balls work with the chair so she uses the accordingly depending on whether she wants to sit a little higher or lower. (The exercise ball was cheaper also.)

I'll start by saying that there is no way this is the exact same ball that came with the original chair. It started off significantly smaller than the original ball. However, over time, it has stretched out and is now almost the same size as the original. It did take some time to stretch (which I didn't notice with the original) but it still fit in the base and was usable right out of the box. I've had it for three months and haven't noticed any other issues, it is still the same quality and look as the original, it just seems to need a little more TLC to get it inflated to the size you want.I was almost scared off from buying a replacement ball because the reviews were pretty terrible, but I think it is well worth the extra effort considering there aren't many great options to substitute it out with. I'm glad that I ordered the replacement rather than ordering a new chair or trying a different brand ball.

I was worried when so many of the reviews talked about the ball being too small. However, I did not find this to be a problem. The first time I pumped it up, it was too small. I waited and hour or two after that and filled it completely and it has been fine since. It does seem to be a thinner ball than the original ball with thinner walls so I worry it won't last as long.he ball I replaced was black and I blended into my office well. For whatever crazy reason I decided to get a bright orange ball as the replacement and it is maybe too bright for a professional office. I have noticed that it picks up black smears or smudges in a noticeable way too. - If I have to replace this one anytime soon, I'm going back to black.

ball sent is way too small to be 52cm - more like 45cm, so does not fit the ball chair!

this ball was the biggest rip off! it literally was just a deflated ball in a box! if you buy this you need something to inflate the ball, and in one night it lost most of the air I spent so long inflating by mouth!! there are cheaper balls that come with something to inflate the ball with and a couple of exercises to follow

This ball fits my ball chair perfectly. At first the ball was far too small when first inflated. I let the ball sit for a few days then let half the air out and re-inflated it. It was then the perfect size. The firmness is also ideal for tummy crunches (not on the chair mind you) and other exercises. The material of the ball holds the shape and doesn't squish flat like a balloon as some balls do. I recommend this product. Will likely buy another.

Was good for a short time ... it became all disformed now have a oval shape very not comfortable .... maybe was deffect !?!?! Anyway will not order again .... too bad i liked the feel of it and was good for abs and back for the short amount of time it was in perfect shape i would had give 5 stars if not deffect or difformed after short period of time ....
