Seigler Reels (Formerly Truth Reels) Small SG Smoke/Silver

Really fun to fish with, but I've had some reliability issues. The handle repeatedly comes loose and the spring for the clicker broke. Service was fine, but took quite a while. To be fair, it was when the company was moving.

I bought this reel and took it on two flounder trips last year as a back up reel. The reel stated to show problems with the free spool not fully disengaging. I sent it to Seigler in Virginia Beach. They informed me that the cam was gone along with thruster bearings and it wasn't under warranty. I paid $52.00 to repair it and send back to me. Not happy with this company. Not worth the hassle. Buy a Shimano, Daiwa or anything else.

This reel is a beast!! I use these reels for freshwater big cats and stripers and big reds in saltwater. Superior build quality and attention to detail.

I love this reel. Smooth. Have two now. Buy one. Don't wait.I like its Make in the USA. Best Warranty. My AVETS are getting dusty.

I purchased this reel last week from a local retailer, spooled it with 50lb Sufix, and mated it to a Shimano Trevala TVC66H. I then brought this rig with me to Montauk for the weekend with the intention of doing some striped bass fishing. Turns out the striper bite was off following the storm that passed, but the sea bass bite was red hot so we headed off to Block Island. This little reel was effortlessly hauling up double header sea bass to 4 lbs. And talk about a sexy looking rig! This reel in smoke/silver looks like it was made for the Trevala. After limiting out on sea bass after 3 drifts, we headed back to the point to try some live eels for stripers. Unfortunately, I did not get to test this reel on any big game, but based on how this thing feels, I plan on bringing it on all future striper trips, and offshore trips as well. I think this reel is perfect for everything from sea bass to football tuna.

This thing is a beast. Super light (only 13 ounces) yet has the drag and torque to pull up anything that doesn't spool you. I've caught big cats up to 70 lbs and used offshore on Amberjacks, Stripers, Cobia and sharks and this thing is flawless. If you need more line capacity, step up to the LG. Oh, and they have a lifetime warranty and are made in the USA! I'm just hoping this company comes out with a spinning reel some day.
