We have a door that wouldn't stay fully open, and purchased this magnetic doorstop. It was quickly installed and is working perfectly! The magnet is strong but not overly so to the extent that other reviewers have mentioned - with just a little tug the door can be closed normally. The pieces have a quality heavy feeling and have a stainless look (as opposed to brushed nickel.) Without reading the instructions, my usually mechanically-inclined husband was briefly stumped on how to separate the parts of each piece to affix them to the baseboard and door with the provided screws - the simple (and obvious, now!) answer is that the two parts are screwed together, in case anyone else runs into this. Overall an inexpensive and easy fix to a minor irritation that we're so glad to be done with.

Used these to hold open doors and they work great. Plenty of strength and have a spring loaded mechanism that makes them easy to engage.

I installed one of these on a thicker, solid panel door. The door is fairly heavy and this magnet set up hasn’t had an issue. I didn’t quite get the alignment correct when I was screwing it in place but because of the spring loaded function of the cupped side, it still makes solid contact and holds the door securely. The slight offset pushes the cupped side in at a slight angle, but that allows the ball to sit perfectly in the cup. The slight angle might actually be why the door releases very cleanly when I pull it closed.I installed the second set on a much lighter door, but this time I got the alignment spot on. I’m not sure if it’s the alignment or the weight of the door, but this set takes a little bit more force to pull the door closed. It’s not too much, and it still serves its purpose perfectly. I only bring this up because it seems as if you can offset them slightly if the magnet is too strong for your taste. For the price, these were fantastic.

Needs a little prepping ! Measure twice, cut once. Wish it came with instructions but i looked at past reviewer and followed his instructions. You have to fist unscrew the bottom plates off, i took a screwdriver, stuck it in a nail hole, and twisted it like im peeling an apple. I only screwed them back on JUST A LITTLE BIT for alignment and placement, so when i put them against one wall and pushed the door against it, the back plates will stick and pop off with a slight jiggle, and show you where the door stopper will sit for it to work. Mark where the nails should go ! I used a drillbit to premake holes for the nails, otherwise it will be very difficult to screw in the nail or youll crack your wood. Then screw in your plates as flat as possible, screw on the door stoppers, and voila ! You installed your door stopper.The magnet and door stopper is good. Bot the strongest magnet in the world, but for an at home bedroom door it works great. It can even take a small bounce if you swing the door but if it's a hard swing the magnets wont catch.1 star off for missing screws. But honestly, if youre doing home projects of anykind you always have extra stuff lying around. Go find it !!!

I have installed this on my garage door and my back door. I like that the magnet is really strong and is works really good. I do have to say that it was really easy to install, it took me less then 5mins to install it and getting it going. The doors stay on the magnet and it doesn't move or gets loose. I would have to pull it with a little force to get it from the magnet. These are great and work really. good.

Did a lot of research to find this nice looking doorstop. Problem is that it is too strong. Missed my return window so now I'm stuck with them.

Works great and better price than the box store. A little fiddling to line up the magnets like some reviewers said but not overly hard. Screw in one side (I did the wall) and then pop the other side of the door stop on it (hanging mid air) and then use that to push the door against to mark your location on the door. I just spun the circle a little to leave a small outline. Otherwise you may have to loosen/move one side or the other to find the sweet spot for the magnet. I did three and first one took longer cause I didn’t do this.

Die Magnete halten locker jede normale Tür, aber auch leicht zu lösen wenn man die Tür wieder schließen will. Sehr leichte Installation und schrauben sind schon dabei. Würd ich wieder kaufen wenn benötigt.

Very strong little door magnets.Work really well, look good.Be careful if you have magnetic toes though as my friends magnetic toes got stuck to it and I had to call his mum.

Finally, a door stop that is both compact and doesn't require mounting to the floor.I bought these for an apartment front door and a bedroom door. Just installed them today and so far they are fantastic. As this is an apartment, the front door is heavy duty and has a door closer installed. Despite this, the magnetic door stop worked perfect.In fact, I have reduced the power of the magnet by putting a little strip of paper over it, just to make it a little easier to close the door. The paper sits on the inside and does not affect the outside look of the door stop in any way.One tip to help with installation is to mount the backing plates with double sided tape first. That way you can screw the whole unit on and get the alignment right before screwing the holes. When you figure out the right location, leave the mounting plates attached to the wall and trace the screw holes with a pencil. Then you can remove the plate and tape, and screw the actual holes.I don't know why Amazon now says these are unavailable, but it looks like there are clones under different manufacturers. Search for mini door stop and see if you have any luck.
