Who is the Hero of Heroes?
This 1992 Tsui Hark film is from a wuxia novel "Xiao Ao Jiang Hu" (Smiling and Proud in the Martial World)written by Jin Yong (Louis Cha). The Ming period story continues from the first film about a carefree swordsman, Ling Wu-Chung (Jet Li) and his tomboy sidekick Kiddo (Michelle Reis). They eventually embark on a conflict with Hattori (Waise Lee)and his master, Invisible Dawn (Bridgette Lin), a powerful warlord who possesses the Sacred Scroll. Why 4 Stars?Lack of dvd extras and special features. In other films zhang feng causes only an explosion but I tried disintegrating an entire person." - Ching Siu-Tung* At first, Tsui Hark wanted a man to play the transsexual Asia the Invincible, but later decided to cast the talented actress Brigitte Lin, a move which, according to Hark, "virtually everyone, including the author (Louis Cha), was vehemently against."* The sequel grossed more than double the first film's earnings.Enjoyed it? Absolute Rubbish!
Absolute Rubbish! This is by far the worst Jet Li film I have ever seen. Ludicrous plot, and how on earth did it qualify for the title "Swordsman"? The film contains no swordsmanship as such. Merely supernatural special effects, and these were done very poorly in comparison to classics like "House of Flying Daggers" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". For a film that displays swordsmanship it is difficult to beat "Azumi", and the heroine is absolutely gorgeous too! Jet Li has featured in some good films, "Hero" springs to mind, some mediocre ones such as the "Legend" series, but "Swordsman II" is of a standard well below the level of mediocrity!

sharp and clear picture
High quality, sharp and clear picture for movies from 1992, so much better if compare with HK remastered version which has very poor image colour and sharpness

swordsman 2
Being a Jet Li fan and a Akira Kurosawa devotee, I found that I did'n't like this film very much. In comparison to most of the other Jet Li movies, that in part I love, this film I did not. No comparison to Mr Kurosawa's direction or style.
