Great mixture of storytelling & vibrant art for young kids
So far, my two sons (4 and 6) have enjoyed five of Gerald's Trickster Books; we bought our first while traveling through Ghost Ranch in New Mexico. Great storytelling, bright vibrant pictures and good lessons to talk through with young kids. I highly recommend this and other books by this author. We just ordered three new ones!

Another Hit by this Author
Every book by Gerald McDermott I have read to the children I work with is a hit. The stories are engaging. The story keeps moving along. The art and colors are amazing. The kids love to keep looking at the pages and retelling the story themselves.

Love it! I'm currently living in West Africa and my daughter just loved the book. I used props with the story...a small drum, turned it upside down and pretended it was Zomos too. We helped collect the milk in it! What a fun book to read!

Fun book; kids love it
We picked up this book because we love Gerald McDermott's various trickster tales from around the world, and the story of Zomo is no exception. My six-year-old collapses in giggles every time we read about Zomo's adventures. The art is bright, whimsical, and a nice, distinctive style, something we've come to expect form McDermott. The story is told with a great "voice" that really gives the feel of a folktale being told by a storyteller and not just another same-old same-old copycat tale.

Good story, great artwork
I love this McDermott trickster-take series (except Pig Boy). Zomo is a great one. So is Raven, Coyote, Monkey, and Jabuti.

Bunnie!
My two your old loves this story, and though he insist that the leopard is a tiger, he loves evert page. We got it three days ago, and we've read it more than two times a day ever since. Of course, there are many levels in the stories he doesn't understand yet, but I think he can sense some though. And I find the story delightful too. I am looking forward to reading it to my son for many years to come.

I love the book-I've been reading various trickster tales to my students. Living in China, though, I can't get most books I would in the States so I have to buy the Kindle versions to show my kids. This is a great book, love the illustrations, and my kids enjoyed it too-after I fixed it. The formatting on the Kindle version is a disgrace-multiple of the same images, text on what looks like a word document in between. It jumped around all over the place-terrible! I had to take screenshots of the pages and paste them into a powerpoint to make it actually look like a book. This would be very hard for kids to follow on their own.
