This is the second time I've ordered this item instead of other options. Why? Because when the electric heating function quits, it's still a dandy blanket. Why Sunbeam instead of the other options? Because my mother once sent my husband and I a Sunbeam electric blanket for Christmas. That one lasted 25 years with it's dual controls still working. Then I ordered cheap replacements 3 years in a row and they were not even decent blankets when they died. That's when I went back to Sunbeam. Sadly, even Sunbeam seems to have gone the route of planned obsolescence now and I can expect only about 3 years of heat function.... but I'm worth it. Keeping me coddled, cuddled and warm is an act of love I do for me.

There are about 12 levels of heat intensity for this blanket. I find that the best is Level 8. At level 8 heat intensity the blanket makes you all warm and cozy. Also, it is best laying right on-top of you, making first contact with your skin. So do not have a regular generic blanket under it. Where the generic blanket would block the heat from reaching you. So just have THIS blanket make first contact with you, and at heat level 8 you really do not need any type of secondary blankets. You can just use this alone by itself. This also happens to be a perfect gift for anyone (friends) who work out from home, home gym. As the warm heat is excellent for relaxing your, post work out, tired body!!!

Perfect size for full coverage on the couch instead of a throw. Great settings that you can adjust and keep you warm! I even liked it do much that I ended up shipping one to my brother in Pennsylvania and he loves his too!

Please don't waste your money on this like I did. For starters, I have yet to wash it because the material is so thin I'm afraid it will disintegrate in the washer. The blanket is very thin and not very soft compared to past heated blankets I've had. The whole reason I bought this blanket is because typical heated blankets are sized to be more like lap blankets rather than for sleeping. I'm 6ft tall, so typical blankets go up to my stomach at best. I bought the twin size version of this hoping that would work better. The problem is, the actual wires inside of the blanket only cover about 50% of the blanket area. There's huge sections of fabric on either side that have no heating wire. If I HAD to say something nice about the blanket, I would say it heats up well, I love that the controller supports up to 12 hours (most blankets only offer up to 4 hours) and I like that the controller has very long wires making it easy to have the controller sitting on a bedside table while being plugged into the blanket down by your feet.
