If you have to wear one...
My doctor suggested I wear a medical alert bracelet whenever I'm outdoors for any length of time. For me, that means when I play golf. My bracelet must be sturdy, comfortable when I'm active and easy to clean. There's not a lot of bracelets that meet that criteria. Fabric bracelets are out because they would quickly get stinky from sweat. The chain type bracelets are out because they would be distracting when I'm active and besides I don't want to look like a holdover from the 80's.I wear mine loose for comfort. This bracelet is easily adjustable for length by cutting off what you don't need and reconnecting the end to the metal part of the bracelet. It's so easy to do that you can cut it too short without meaning to. If you cut a bit off at a time, you can wear it for awhile and cut it again if you want. That way you get it to just the right length. The clasp is a fold over type common to watch bracelets. It's secure but slightly difficult to open and close. The engraving is really more a type of printing, done by computer. You can't feel any depth to the print with your fingertip. I'll take them at their word that it's permanent. I haven't had any fading and have worn it numerous times. I've even washed it in the washing machine accidentally. You should engrave only what's absolutely necessary. The more letters you print, the smaller the type and the less legible it will be. It's easier to read if you use all the lines available and engrave less words per line. I used all caps so it's easier to see. The first line should be your name. The next few lines should very briefly describe your medical condition. Try to make this three or four words or less. The next to last line should be the letters ICE in all caps (in case of emergency) followed by your emergency contact name. The last line should be your emergency contact phone number. Include an area code. Why did I give this four stars instead of five? It's just my opinion but I think it's too expensive for what it is. I think that of a lot of things, lol.I've included some non professional photos to give you an idea of what it looks like in the real world.

Emergency Medical ID Sport Bracelet ...
I ordered the Emergency Medical Alert ID Sport Bracelet in Black. I placed my order and received a mail within 15 minutes from the company requesting my medical info to be engraved onto the plate. I responded and mailed my information immediately. My medical bracelet arrived within a weeks time. It was nicely packaged and presented well.I would like to make a point of saying that this bracelet was easy to adjust & was easily re-clasped ... I was wearing it within 15 minutes of receiving it! I have read a few reviews where others experienced some difficulty. I had no difficulty at all. The band is very flexible, the clasps are easy to figure out. The back clasp is much like a watchband clasp often found on nice watches nowadays. The adjustable sections of the rubbery / plastic band are easy ... you simply cut off the excess in segments until the bracelet will fit your wrist. The two back clasps are nice and snug, so opening them may be a little bit snug, but not difficult. The printing is small, but readable.I have worn this bracelet now for over two months and it is wearing quite well. It is sleek and sporty. It is not wearing away and it looks very nice on my wrist. I have a couple beaded accent bracelets added to my wrist and they all look very nice together. Its convenient as it deals with moisture and water and all the elements quite well.I am very pleased with my purchase!

thought it was best that she have something saying what her issues were ...
I ordered this for my 15 year old daughter. She was born with a heart defect. Now that she is getting older and will soon be driving on her own, thought it was best that she have something saying what her issues were God forbid something happen to her. I got the email from the company about 30 mins after I placed the order with Amazon, about the engraving. I got a response back very quickly stating they would be able to engrave exactly what I had wrote. It arrived very quickly and we were very pleased with it. It was very easy to adjust and cut the band to fit her. I took the buckle off and measured out her wrist and cut each end off so it was even on both sides. It was very easy. It is a nice quality and my daughter likes it. She says it was very comfortable.

Not your average I.C.E.
I have been wearing this bracelet for a week now and it's so comfy I forget it's there. I didn't want a chain for this reason. I also needed it to be waterproof, so the velcro bands wouldn't do either. The print/text form arrived by email the same day I ordered and the company was quick to answer my questions about layout and character limits. After that, shipping was quick. While I'm not stoked to need it, this one works for me- sleek and unobtrusive.UPDATE: Sorry to report that I had to demote the stars. The text on this band is printed, not engraved. It's been about 2 months now and the text is beginning to wear off around the edges. If this company switched to actually engraving the metal plate, I'd replace this one.

This is the med alert band you've been looking for
This company has the right idea's about customer service. I ordered this band do to my active lifestyle, sleek design, and comfort. I have been nothing but impressed with this product. Less than 3 months after receiving my band I had to change my medication on the plate. Vital bands said theyโ would make me a new one at no charge and rearrange the script to help reduce the slight reduction of color in the engraving on the word edging. Please get this product, support this company. I will be a customer for life. Thanks Vital Bands.

Comfortable and good looking, but...
The printing is so tiny on the bracelet that it is hard to read. On the plus side, it looks like a fitness bracelet or a watch band, making it more acceptable to my dad to wear all the time. He says that it is comfortable.
