I am thoroughly enjoying this triology. I've not been interested in historical fiction before but these books have converted me!

Ken Follett is always a good read and this trilogy proves it.
Having been a big Ken Follett fan for 10+ years, I ordered this set for my Marine son to enjoy at the barracks. It helped me pass time and I know it will for him as well. Mr. Follett can transport the reader to any time he sets his books in. I appreciate him and historical fiction reads.

what an impressive epic!
Reading these books during the shelter in place time was an extraordinary experience in many ways. Through the stories, traveled beyond time and place through two wars, major ideological wars, battles, nuclear crises, assassinations, different continents and dramas and more. The books also provide perspectives on our current challenges and what will survive and remembered of 21st Century. I had never read Ken Follett before and what a loss it would have been if I hadn't. The capacity of the author for imagination and energy is amazing.

Good reads
A coworker introduced me to this author. I have been enjoying this series as well as hos other one that focuses on the 13th century. However, this collection has listed on the books "Not to be sold outside the UK". Which could explain why there are single quotations used for character speech vs the usual double. But it is a minor complaint. I am glad the author has less of a set focus in these books. His liberal leanings are quite evident throughout, but I still enjoy the story. Plus, it inspires me to look deeper into the real history and learn even more for myself. Good read all around.

Great journey through history
Although I was a bit surprised that this trilogy consists of 3000 pages, all three volumes were well written and provided a fascinating quasi-non-fiction account of history from the beginning of WWI through WWII and on to the Cold War, interspersing fictional and real characters into a naturally flowing journey of history. A good refresher on how socialism and communism easily infiltrated societies and the frightening parallels beginning to take hold in the USA today. An important reminder that history repeats itself.

The Century Trilogy by Ken Follett
This is an excellent series that begins in 1911 and follows families in UK, US, Germany, and Russia through both world wars and into present time. The history is well documented and fictional characters reflect all the events that occurred during this time period. I can't recommend this series enough. From the first chapter, the reader is riveted and the books left you wanting to read more. The series ends in 2008.
