It’s so cute
Careful using this because it does get really hot when in use . Works perfectly other than that . You do need to use charcoal discs . Again be careful when hot always use heat mittens to handle after use .

Good incense burner if you know what it is
Hey folks, seen a lot of reviews for this thing, I feel like there's a needed perspective here. This is a fine hanging incense burner, it's actually pretty large, and neatly sturdy. I would not recommend burning charcoal with the lid on, the air flow seems unlikely to be enough, but it'll do just fine with a cone or similar.HOWEVER, IT IS NOT A THURIBLE. Judging from the other reviews it seems to me that a lot of people have purchased this with the assumption that it is a thurible, a priest's chain incense burner used in Christian ritual, which are dramatic looking and have become popular in home use. There's even an answered question implying it is. It is not. Its delicate little chains will hold it up just fine to being hung from a bracket, but they will snap like noodles if it's swung around. If that's what you want, do yourself a favor and buy a small one-chain thurible, a cheap one is about $ 80-120 depending on who makes it. This is not the product for that.If you ARE looking for a stationary hanging incense burner, this is a great piece and wonderful for the price.

Incense burner: well made and fits my needs.
Perfect for what I needed it for. Using it with a high priest costume. Just the right size etc. will be trying incense inside. Will update. Love it.

Small and Inexpensive
New to burning incense - this small lovely burner makes a great starter piece for someone not sure about how much they want to invest in the practice. I didn't have any trouble with the chain however I did handle the piece with extra care because the chain is very fragile. Just big enough for one standard size charcoal round. Sand helps to keep the base from getting too hot, however it would be nice if the lid came with a ring or a clamp for easy safe removal. The lid seems to put the coal out pretty quickly, so I only use it when I am finished and ready to put the incense out. I wouldn't hang this except for decoration while NOT burning or in use because the chain is very fragile.I wouldn't buy this item again but it was useful and served it's purpose as a practice burner. Going forward, it'll just be decoration.

its worth the low price solid brass
It's worth the low price. Remember it's brass. Good solid brass in the shape of a cencer.

Not bad for the value
Nice little thurible for the price. The chain it comes with is small and incredibly cheap. I'd recommend replacing it. Also, be careful you try to swing this to dispense smoke, as the lid does not lock or have a hinge. You could add this yourself if you want, but it's better to just not use it that way.Pros: affordable, decent interior size, sturdy center piece.Cons: cheap chain, does not lock closed, no tray for air flow underneath coal puck.Overall: Affordable censer/thurible of a decent size and build quality. Not designed for swinging and requires adding your own mesh or stones for air flow.

Attractive and not too big
Pros:Looks beautifulChainLid stays put during use with no noiseDecent smoke outputCons:Lid is difficult (slippery) to hold on to when needed to openUpgraded this from an older Censer that used a handle. The ability to swing it on the chain keeps the charcoal alive and therefore more incense smoke comes out and for longer. The polished brass looks beautiful and the chain doesn't get tangled. Using the hoop at the top is comfortable for swinging the censer back and fourth. The lid sits on top securely, but it is a difficult to grasp if you need to open it up while it is in use. A friend of mine has one where the lid slides though the chain, which ensure that it won't drop to the floor if lifted.Other than that, I'm happy and look forward to using this for years to come.
