Great for all my jumbo sized pencil
I got these for my Lyra super ferby and Koh-i-noor magic pencils and it works perfectly. I got this not expecting very much because of the wooden construction but this is one of the best sharpeners that I have ever used. Most shave off a thicker layer of wood and core but this one shaves a very fine layer so there is less wastage of the pencil. I just got it for the bigger pencils but it does an excellent job for smaller pencils, a great sharp point that is not so thin that it breaks and crumbles. When I got it there was loose bits on it where the wood was not properly shaved in making the sharpener but they were not splinter like or sharp so it does not affect how I feel about the pencil. I think it's fabulous and I definitely recommend.

A CONTE a Paris Pencil Sharpener!
Throw out your scalpels, craft knives, and band-aids (cut fingers)... this is an honest-to-goodness sharpener for Conte a Paris pencils (& similar sized pastel pencils)! One of the most beloved attributes of Conte pencils is their generous 5mm diameter. It’s also one of the most maddening when it comes to sharpening them. After purchasing a dozen or more sharpeners which all promised to (but didn’t!) accommodate the Conte’s girth... this sharpener DOES!I’ve attached 3 photos, 2 of which demonstrate a “Pierre Noire 2B“ Conte & the sharpener. The 3rd photo is simply the reverse side of the sharpener, a “KUM Wood Cutter” (made in Germany).Although a small, portable wooden block... it’s easy to hold and sharpens the Conte pencil with only a few turns. As depicted, this sharpener produces a rounded point (similar to that of a new Conte pencil). I’ve still not found a sharpener which produces the preferred long-point.KUM also makes a handheld 2-stage Long Point sharpener (quite probably my very favourite sharpener of all), but sadly it won’t accommodate Contes.Nonetheless, I am pleased beyond words to have found this little, $3, wooden gem! I’ve already ordered a half-dozen more of them to scatter about my studio, as well as to stash a couple away.Thank you for reading,-CC, Amazon Prime Member-Reviewer

It is just one sharpener! Don't think its three because of the picture!!
The one problem I have is that the initial image of this item shows three sharpeners, so I thought I was getting three sharpeners for this price. I would have gotten the metal one instead of this one. It does work great and I am pleased with it. However, it was my understanding that the rules for Amazon was that you show just what is being sold on the initial image. Maybe it is a loophole you found, good for you because you will get more sales by cheating the system.Don't get me wrong I am happy about the purchase, I just thought you were more of a value than I got.

This is literally THE BEST sharpener I have ever used on a pencil
Ok - I bought this for the bigger pencil end and barely use it because I barely use the bigger pencils. I couldn't find the sharpener I usually use today while I was coloring so I used this one. Why did I not use this one sooner?! This is literally THE BEST sharpener I have ever used on a pencil. The only drawback is not having somewhere for the excess to go. It doesn't sharpen the entire tip and cause the "lead" part of the tip to break - or leave those annoying grooves on the exposed wood. It is angled in such a way that it sharpens the very top first and then goes down slightly (if this makes sense?) and it is perfectly smooth and doesn't break. It's my new favorite. Attached is a picture I started coloring today that used a lot of sharp tipped pencil.

Cute inexpensive sharpener by Kum--especially good for graphite pencils
First of all, this was ordered to bring my total up so I could qualify for free shipping. On the other hand, I'm a BIG fan of Kum sharpeners. I own a growing collection of colored pencils, so I do a LOT of sharpening. Wax and/or oil buildup from colored "leads" tend to dull blades a lot quicker than regular graphite pencils, so finding inexpensive but effective pencil sharpeners are a must. I have purchased and loved both the Kum Magnesium Ellipse Sharpener and the Kum Magnesium Metal 1-hole Steel Blade sharpener from Amazon, and picked up a 2-hole Kum Magensium sharpener from a local art supply store. They are very long lasting, and work well for all types of pencils including softcore pencils such as Prismacolor. Now, about the WOODEN version. It's very cute. I read reviews where customers have complained that they received sharpeners that were very shoddily made, and this was NOT the case of the sharpener I received. On the other hand, I don't think it works as well as the all-metal Kum sharpeners--I don't know if the lighter weight of the wood has anything to do with it. It does sharpen my colored pencils (I haven't tried it on ALL the brands I own yet), but I think the metal ones just seem to do a better job. Less turns and cleaner cuts with not too much waste. On the other hand, I bought a few Derwent water soluble graphite pencils that happen to be slightly thicker than most of my other pencils, but not so thick to need the bigger hole. For these, and other graphite pencils, the sharpener works quite well. I'll probably use this wooden sharpener for the Derwents, and other graphite drawing pencils. I may not reorder this again simply because I just prefer the metal Kums, and there are also some other metal sharpeners I'm interested in trying out.

Great for colored pencils.
I am a Kum fan from way back, but had always used the metal version. These are even easier on soft-core colored pencils. The shavings are tissue-paper thin, and the wax tips come out smooth and not chewed or split like other brands can leave them. I can control the sharpen and avoid wasting my pencils (important for expensive colored pencils). The metal Kum works fine for any pencils, but these seem to be more precise. Edited to add: So I threw it away accidentally and immediately missed it so much that I ordered three more. They are equally delightful to use. Also, I forgot to mention that OEM refill blades are available at decent prices.
