The Salmonberry is a member of the Blackberry / Raspberry family. It is, however, a species in its own right, Rubus Spectabilis. In summer dark pink flowers are followed by edible berries which pick like raspberries, leaving the core on the plant. The red berries have a sweet, delicious flavour which can be eaten straight from the bush or made into delicious jams, jellies or wine.

The seeds arrived in a good small package. It is too early to say about their fertility.
