390 Traditional Stained Glass Designs (Dover Crafts: Stained Glass)

Different patterns

I bought this book to color, but it is not meant to be an adult coloring book. The pictures are pretty, but they are printed on both sides of the pages and laid out more as patterns. They CAN be colored but the gel pens make an impression on the other side of the page and may bleed through. The book is in four sections by style, and I think it is meant to be used by people who do stained glass as a hobby.

When I ordered this book, I thought that the designs would be in color, like real stained glass. I have a hard time envisioning color patterns but the designs are not. The pictures look like drawings that are black and white. I wrote to Amazon and they were so kind as to refund the purchase price. I gave this book three stars and not one because of the hundreds of patterns available.

I guess I just expected more that JUST traditional stained glass designs (maybe a couple of words here and there would have been nice) but no, there are just traditional stained glass designs. Of the designs that are there (mostly black and while lined designs but a few colored in on the interior covers), they are very nice and I will be able to use them. The lines are clean and the book isn't cluttered. I recommend it.

Inspiration

Loved the Large number of patterns to view.I would have loved the patterns shown blank and with color or a finished example, but pleased with the product!

I am just starting to create stain glass. This book has been very helpful in getting me started. I had no problems with the seller, item, nor shipping.

Looking for ideas to use with 'stained glass' paint. Nice patterns in here. Many are included. I wish they had more shown in color though. The only color pages are on the inside and outside of the covers.

The only coloured drawings are on the front cover and on the inside of the front and back covers, the rest and black and white drawings.

Nice and cheap little book and good for design ideas. I've already used it for ideas for myself. Would recommend to others.
