AMERICAN FLUOR CORP YL108-4 Round Barn and Yard Light, 14-Inch

This is a nice light weight, large reflector shade, dark sky light fixture. I've seen American made for 4 to 5 times the cost so I don't complain much about origin. Two issues that I had to deal with; (1)The mounting plate only had two of four mounting screw holes drilled and the supplied screws didn't fit the 10-24 screw holes in the weather tight (common) box that I used. (2)The boom conduit lock nuts probably won't hold up to a strong gust of wind even if you crank them really tight, so I added some pipe joint cement. I don't want to climb the ladder to straighten the light out after every strong breeze. Also, a non-issue, I hoped to find one in green. No such luck, so a can of Krylon in Hunter Green was used to spray on a happier look. Construction is good and I'm pretty sure I've got mother nature licked, so short of sulfuric acid rain storm or a tornado, this thing should hold up. I screwed in an Alzo 27 watt (100 watt equiv) CFL 5500 K and it lights a tremendous area without shining in the trees or my eyes. This is a very nice light fixture for the light pollution conscious. No regrets here.

I ordered two of these from Amazon on Monday morning because I was having trouble locating something affordable with the vintage look I wanted. I wandered into a Menard's for the first time and "WOW" what a great selection of everything (way better than Home Depot or Lowes). I would go there more often if there was one closer to my house. Menard's wanted about $3.00 more each for the exact same light, but I would have saved on shipping. I'm only out an add'l $12.00, but wish I had looked around a little more before I ordered online and paid shipping. I will write a follow-up once we get the renovation to the garage and get the lights installed. I gave it 4 stars for now because everyone else seems to like the light, but I agree with another reviewer that it would be nice if the arm were also "gooseneck" instead of straight.

Looked around for a bit to find a fixture that the wife and I could both agree on. This one seems fairly well built and looks nice for above the garage door use.As mentioned elsewhere, only 2 of the 4 holes are drilled in the cover plate. You only use two, so this isn't catastrophic. Green grounding screw was missing from assembly, but was easy enough to replace from my collection of parts and pieces.Haven't had a big windstorm yet, but the lamp seems like it'll do pretty well. Feels solid, yet light.

I was looking for gooseneck barn lights, but I wasn't about to pay $200 each for them. I ran into these for a temporary solution, but they are much better quality than I was anticipating. the unit is all metal, inside is actually porcelein, threads are all tight, and it supports a 300W bulb.

For a fraction of the cost. Just built a new gambrel style garage with metal roof and siding. Wanted to replicate that old barn light look. This was the only affordable option. They went up easy and seem very well made. Can't yet vouch for durability, but they seem like the real thing. Recommend.

I spent some time searching for a light fixture like this to use for path lighting at a lake house. The first fixtures were too expensive, and they really were not suitable for long outside exposure. Finally, I came across these. They are perfect for my application. They are "no frills" utility lights, and they appear to be quite durable. The price was in line with what I expected to pay for a fixture of this nature.

A great light for outside of the garage or shed. Very easy to install and can be painted with any good enamel. A great price and very reasonable. This light compares with the collectable barn lights that cost a lot more and is constructed as good as if not better than the collectable ones i looked at. I highly reccommend this light to anyone looking for an outside light fixture!

People were asking more than $300 for used "vintage" barn lights made in USA.This is a good alternative, but made in China. This light seems to be made well and has been working well in all weather conditions.
