The seventh Electric Six album (and sixth for Metropolis Records) is entitled "Zodiac." "Zodiac" is a record designed to appeal to signs of every persuasion. Is Saturn rising in your seventh house' "Clusterfuck" will smooth all those bad vibes out, brothers and sisters. Are you an Earth sign' "Jam It In The Hole" is exactly what you need to put your mind right. Too many planets fixed in your house' Take a listen to the E6 version of the Spinners' classic "The Rubberband Man" and put your worries aside. Just remember, in Electric Six's sky, every sign is a compatible one with YOU.

Representative of E6's work, but not as good as earlier work
**Intro**This is Electric Six's (E6's) 7th album, and was released in 2010. I don't think album is as good as their earlier work such as Fire and Switzerland, but it does capture their typical disco/punk sound, humor, and subject matter, and for E6 fans, there is plenty to like in that.**The Music**If you listen to this music, you'll realize (or confirm to yourself) that their lead vocalist, Dick Valentine is the most important band member. His vocals are prominent, and can always be heard above the accompanying instruments. Not to say that this band's instrumentalists aren't talented, but Dick Valentine's talent is the only one to really write home about. The lyrics that he sings are witty, colorful, and cover a wide vocabulary and topics. His voice is juicy, frantic, and enthusiastic, a bit like a frazzled John Fogerty of Creedance Clearwater Revival might sound. Dick V. is even more interesting than that because he also changes and disguises his voice at times for different effects. The overall mood of the music is bright and glitzy, and there is plenty of energy. The tempo tends to stay pretty fast for most songs, like at a punk rock type of pace. In this album, sexual topics are included in the mix, but not to as great of an extent as their other former work.**Conclusions**I'm going to give this album three stars since I don't think it's at the same caliber as Switzerland and Fire were at. The lyrics don't seem as creative, the melodies and beats just aren't as catchy. It is hard to ever come up with something as good as High Voltage, after all.I would still highly recommend seeing this band live if you have a chance. They still perform their older work, and Dick Valentine's stage presence is really amazing. It is like this awesome blend of silliness and sleaziness. He performs with lots of energy, and really knows how to work up the crowd.

Finally!!!! and Thank You E. Six
For the last few releases by Electric Six, I felt they were just cranking out music to get it to the market and did not put in the time required to write good music. I felt they were enduring on the popularity gained from Fire and Senor Smoke. Finally, they have released a great album again. By far, this is their best effort in years. I am not disappointed and cannot stop listening to this Zodiac. Recommend it for everyone of all ages.

Surprisingly good
I loved Electric Six since Fire, and after Señor Smoke I thought they were going downhill a little. They'd come out with a CDs worth of good songs every few releases or so. But Zodiac is pretty amazing. I can listen to this one all the way through without skipping.

Dick Valentine, you crafty man....
I don't quite see how all of these correllate to the zodiac, but it's an amazing album all the same. From After Hours to Talking Turkey, you'll have so much just listening. Your mind may well be so blown that you'll put it on repeat, I know I will.

JAM IT IN THE HOLE!
Oh, Electric Six, you never fail to please me. This album is in no way significantly different than the previous ones, but it really doesn't have to be. Their formula for awesome works just fine the way it is.

Electric Six still rocks the house !
Dick Valentine and crew have released a new album on such a regular basis, I've just come to expect a new one every autumn, and they have not disappointed me yet! The new album "Zodiac" is chock full of the Electric Six sound and off-kilter lyrical content. The songs are pretty strong, and infectious. My favorites are: "After Hours", "Cluster#*(k", "Rubberband Man" -a crunchy cover of the Spinners classic and "It Ain't Punk Rock". I think they've tried to bring in some of the flavor of their earliest songs (The "Fire!" and "Senior Smoke" albums are impossible to surpass, but always a good target to aim for). If you love E6, you're gonna like this album, If you've never heard of them, try this one out and then get the two aforementioned records and you'll be permanently infected."Zodiac" Is Definitely a keeper.

Still Good
Whenever E6 comes out with a new CD, I think how it's going to be the end and always prepare for the worst. But this one didn't let me down. There are maybe 3-4 songs that I don't like, but the rest of it goes down pretty smoothly, and even has room for a few songs I would call amazing.I checked it out on a YouTube playlist and ended up buying it. I'd recommend it.

One of the most underrated bands ever?
Say Electric Six to most people and they'll say Danger, High Voltage or Gay Bar and that's about it. That's a huge shame because they've been pumping out albums and touring consistently since those single releases back in 2003.There's comedy to a lot of the writing in some of their songs but at the end of the day they are just a full on rocking Detroit band that never fail to entertain their fans. This band deserve much more success that they've got, especially in the UK.I'll be the first to admit that this band went totally under the radar to me as well after 2003 and I never sought out any of their other music until a couple of years ago. However, I've been slowly buying up their back catalogue and have really begun to appreciate this band. This is a band where any new album becomes an instant pre-order for me.Highly recommend this and all other Electric 6 albums. Go see them live as well....fantatsic.

Senor Smoke
